I don’t know how to surf but I guess I’ll be in the right place to learn! I have plenty of information about Irun from the girl who’s currently working there but any more info on things to do and places to visit (and of course any good airports!) in the area is always welcome.

SS is a very interesting city , and tappas bars are great!Downtown is lovely !!!
I’m actually going to be living and working in Irún. I hope to spend lots of time in SS though as I have heard loads about it. I’m also looking forward to seeing the sea again as I have been in Germany for the last 6 months. I was brought up by the sea and so miss it a lot when I’m nowhere near it.
Thanks Hand I’m sure I will. To be honest I also wanted to try out a new airline & a couple of new airports (as well as fly on a 757!) so they were also factors in my decision 🙂 . That said, if the price had been horrendous, I would have flown FR (or EZY in to Bilbao)

Just a question.
Why don’t you fly Ryanair from STN to BIQ (Biarritz).San sebastian is 30 km away from BIQ , you’ll fly non-stop and you will certainly pay less!!
An other point : EAS is 22 km away from BIQ !!!
I got a really good fare with Iberia and am going to be living about 5 minutes away from EAS. I did look at all the options but as I’m going for 6 months I need more than the 15KG luggage allowance that I’d get with Ryanair. Thanks for the tip though, I will quite probably use that to go home for a weekend during my time abroad.
I really Like it. Well Done!
Go to http://www.britanniaairways.com and click on “Select-Your-Seat”.
Then click on 757-200 (235 Seats) and you have a seat map.
Hope this is useful.

I have never visited Bristol or Cardiff, however I do know that Bristols attitude to things is better than BAA’s. There is a viewing enclosure somewhere near RWY09. Most people in the UK don’t like video cameras within any kind of business. Some stupid kind of phobia that the results will end up on TV and portray them in a bad light!
Birmingham and Manchester airports have done a great deal of work supporting aviation enthusiasts, and are very “spotter friendly” however the BAA airports not so. Don’t worry though, a campaign is already underway to make them change their minds!
They told me I couldn’t use my video camera for “security reasons”. This seems to be an excuse for everything at airports nowadays. I do agree with you about BHX & MAN though. I study in Salford & so go to MAN regularly & never have any problems there! Btw thanks for the welcomes everyone!
