From a British perspective this is probably one of the more interesting.

Weston Airfield Catalina
Most recent picture of the Catalina I could find. Taken after some stormy weather , when it went nose up.
Before my first visit to NY somebody gave me the priceless tip
“Don’t go up the Empire State Building, because from there you can’t see the tallest building in New York. Go instead up the Rockerfeller Centre, from where you can see the Empire State. A much better vista”
They had a point.
Moggy
Yeah…Top of the rock, it’s a must do. Way way better than ESB.
If your in MoMA they’ve a Bell 47 on display. But probably not worth the admission if you just want to see a Bell 47
If you’re going to one of the big arty museums, the MET is hard to beat
A few pictures from 2010
Hadn’t seen that series of photo’s, but it’s Yellow 3 salvaged near Rørvik, Norway.
Under restoration,… scroll down or you’ll miss it!

Regards the Ar234 their info on the aircraft on their website says:
‘Because all of the original German paint was stripped off the airframe before the aircraft’s transfer to the Smithsonian, restoration specialists applied markings of a typical aircraft of 8./KG 76, the first bomber unit to fly the Blitz’
I’ve a copy of the Robert Mikesh book on restoration and its covered in that. It’s interesting to see how it and other NASM restorations were tackled and I have to say I largely admire their approach, and the effort they go to.
I think the Horten is in good hands

Thats good news, will be good to see it back in one piece.
I wish they would restore the Ta152 as well!
The Ta-152 is pictured further down the blog, so maybe it’s in the queue.
Although with a Sikorsky JRS-1, a Helldiver, Nakajima Kikka, and the Horten all in their restoration facility, the Smithsonian certainly have their work cut out for them.
Some interesting pictures of the 152 here, and still with RAF fin flashes!
http://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/fw190/ta152h.shtml
The Ju-388, ME-410, Arado-196 also await their turn..and countless other gems no doubt.
When will I go? is the next question 🙂

This was found at a former USAAF base in Northern Ireland a few years back hiding in a hedgerow.
Seamew artwork
The same artwork as used on the Flight cover that super sioux posted , this time from The Aeroplane.
Door Jettison
Hi all
I was also at the show and also saw the incident.
I only left Galway this morning ( Wednesday) and the Merlin was still sitting at the Airport.
I also was taking some detail shots of the Merlin and the doors in one of them. Also have posted one of the queue to get into the cockpit.
Can’t help but think there should have been some barriers around the Static Helicopters.
Mystery 110
Being off work with the flu, it was perfect viewing for me.
But now I’m wondering if the Me 110/ Bf 110 seen crashed in the film, is the example in the BoB Museum at Hendon? Or where there any other examples left in the UK circa 1954?
Castle Archdale
I think there’s a good amount of photographic material held by the Canadians, I’m not sure if the Armed Forces or Canadian National Archives hold it. I’ve seen both quoted as source, alot of it has never been published.
Worth investigating if you are after photos.
Action Stations 7 is worth having, if you don’t have it, and can find a copy these days. It covers all NI’s WW2 airfields.
The last time I was at the RAF museum I saw the aerial shot of Castle Archdale (thats in Action Stations) in their Coastal Command section where they’d put a caption saying it was in Ceylon or somewhere. If it’s still there next time I’m there I’ll be filling a complaint!
