Chinese forums have been buzzing with rumors that two engines — the medium thrust ws-13 (J-31, FC-1) and the light thrust ws-17(first I heard of the designation) for the L-15 — are entering full production.
Why would WS-13 enter full production when there are no airplanes in production that will use that engine? Unless ones assumes China is going to start building FC-1s for itself, as J-31 is no where near its production and the PAF is content with RD-93s
Is this drone news item related to Pakistan Air Force as this thread is?
How are these ratios calculated, ie total airframes over number of pilots, or does it account for airframe availability. Does it apply to just fighter aircraft or do transport and trainers count as well? How does that impact IAF with such large number of 2 seat aircraft (Su-30s) which would make for a bulk of its airforce.
This thread is pure comedy … dont stop now please.
As for, ‘…a non contributing forum members who continually spam threads with repeatedly discussed points again and again?’ … OMG what will I do! I must reply to this same question over and over again and prove my eshlongness … yada yada yada
As far as I am concerned you dont need to keep reading the responses, questions or attempts at trolling … and def dont need to reply to them. So stop acting like babies … wait scratch that, cuz this is entertaining
L-39 would be the best bet imo too … check out this eg.

No need to IM me … I will detract my “light fighter” example with a medium fighter instead, as I was just using it as an analogy. How come India is not going on to develop its own fighter instead of trying to get an MRCA for the better part of this decade? After all, how many detailed briefings have the Indian officials have had on a variety of platforms!?
My point basically is that it is a retarded line of thought to think PAF will cancel the deal with Saab just because they received all the information they needed from briefing by Saab and now China has that knowledge as well and will provide PAF with a copy cat solution!
Fitting thrust vectoring nozzles and related parts would shift the center of gravity on any aircraft. How is that change worked out in a design or are the changes more or so are restricted to the software side of flight controls?
I dont see how China can gather data for a briefing only certain PAF officials would have had from the Swedes regarding their AEW aircraft and its performance. And if they were able to do so, it must mean that either Chinese engineers are very very talented and at the same time their Indian counter parts are really really dimwitted. After all, Indians have had such briefings about all sort of military hardware from every aircraft manufacturer out there. Yet they are unable to make even a light fighter aircraft with sufficient performance to gain trust from their own air force.
And I would like to see your source about any potential Hawkeyes coming from the States as free of charge? Also, since you seem privy to the contract between Saab and PAF, what exactly does that exit clause state? And as far as I remember, China was well on its way towards developing AEW capability by the time PAF had a chance to procure any of the systems available on the market.
That doesnt make any sense whatsoever
Right … and they learned everything meaningful from briefings! Makes perfect sense for conspiracy theorists. And since when was China briefed about the AEW’s performance?
Aside from the Saab deal, nothing is yet concrete on paper. I doubt Pakistan will be getting any US made early warning aircraft.
Apparently, PAF is not as worried about its planned aircraft acquisitions and force numbers as India is if one were to go by the latest article concerning dwindling fighter aircraft in IAF in the coming years that can be operational at any given time. In that scenario, given the size of two countries, Pakistan’s skies will be much better defended than India’s
PAF doesnt use LANTIRN. For the MLU birds, there could always be a follow-up order for more Sniper pods
Couple of pics for UAEAF’s Block 60s. Cant remember where I got em from but the copyright info is on the images.
This is a little surprising as I had believed there were Indian/Israeli origin ECM/EW systems in the Su-30s. Does the Su-30s carry and podded ECM/EW equip or is it all carried internally since there should be no lack of space.
This will definitely give an edge to an adversary
How is any of this useless discussion about the dynamics of sales to warsaw pact countries related to JF-17s thread?
