Thank you to hillwalker for your memories….

…and to Dave for the photos added.

I notice that the Pleasure Flights signwriting on the hangar roof, mentioned earlier in the thread, is visible in one photo.

    Hello Dave,

David went to Cranfield…at first using G-AZLH and at one time I believe Apache G-ARCW was with them…..I think the Apache may now be back at the current Skegness.??

David is listed on this site; http://www.cranfieldflyingschool.com/who_we_are.html

My time flying at Skegness was, I have to admit, mostly as passenger rather than partaking in much training..I did briefly later get to sit in the left seat…but did not take it very far……………..
It was basically at that time…..have some cash want to go flying….

David did observe that I was spending out on jollies at a rate at least equal to that which could be getting me flying….he told me this in his ubiquitous style……. and he was 110% correct…………

I remember one day with David following the old railway line North of Louth…overflying the preserved section at Ludborough….and we had been discussing how it worked with volunteers etc…

I then became aware that he seemed to have set up a fixed stare to the left….for what seemed to be an age. I wonder….was he pondering on this free railway building.??..or was it a DBC test to see my reaction to his apparent inactivity??……………………..

Thank you again for posting on… I hope you can get the photos sorted ok.

    Clive
