East Kirkby Spitfire was around and about this lunchtime…I saw it heading away towards the coast and then returning to Spilsby…turning overhead home here:). before a second run around the town and back to EK…

And again….about 1-10pm…around Spilsby and Toynton……:)

BBMF Dakota out and about today….
..11-09am it was spotted purposefully approaching my works location of Gunby, East Lincs from the WNW…briefly a Chipmunk pulled alongside left…seemed to have to pile on the coals to acheive this. The Chipmunk then broke away left leaving the Dakota to go on its way towards the coast… 🙂

Reversing things a little :confused: …2 photos of Skegness (Ingoldmells) taken in 1991?? from Auster G-AHCK. (photos courtesy of A. Hall.)

And another of G-AHSO being refuelled at Skegness by (now sadly late) Peter Wilkes.

Time for another Skegness Air Taxi Service Ltd Auster..G-AHSO in 1992?.

I used to turn up at Skegness (Ingoldmells) in its last years of operation with some cash burning a hole in my pocket to go flying…often if available the Auster was the choice especially on a Saturday when pleasure flying was a bit quiet.

Again this afternoon 3-27pm….T09 on return to East Kirkby visited Spilsby and started his turn around the town directly overhead home here. 🙂 …and then back overhead heading South for a minute or so and thence return to East Kirkby…into a quite stormy looking sky…

Spitfire T09 was out of East Kirkby today..around and about over Spilsby, E. Lincs for nearly ten minutes prior to display at EK at 12-30pm for Launch of Lincolnshire Poppy Appeal.

I add that this is a stand alone reply to the thread in general…ie; he did not get as far South as Essex.!! 😉

Infact went North to Wickenby..?? and thence C’by.??

On another note, Saw a Dakota overfly Norwich heading east this morning, It was too high and in the sun to make out any markings

Ref the above….

I believe N473DC may have returned West to Liverpool today from somewhere overseas.??..so I wonder if it was this DC3 that you spotted on its outbound journey.?????

Perhaps this one doesn’t count…it was a heard but not seen…although I shot out the house to see if I could see it…

8-46am…Spitfire T09 winding it up at East Kirkby…summise on take off…perhaps for Duxford.??

Spitfire T09 returning to East Kirkby from.??….did a flypast at Spilsby at 4-50pm..

Approached from SW..left hand turn round the town and back South right over my house…very nice thank you.. 🙂

We had just sufficient warning of the flypast 😉 to enable my father to shuffle outside to enjoy the sight 🙂

T09, Spitfire out of East Kirkby….noted running out the the East and then returned plumb towards us as we watched from the bottom of the garden here at the South end of Spilsby.. When overhead turned North to cross the town..and thence to EK for 3-30pm display.

Couple of local Thruster 600s also seen out and about together…but they don’t count.??!!..seem to perform rather nicely though 🙂

4-20pm….Catalina has just passed East of Spilsby, E. Lincs…heading just W of North.
Weather a bit grotty here currently with some heavy thunder showers about.

Spotted a Lancaster today 😉 …..heading East, climbing slowly through a thin wispy layer of cloud ..over Gunby, East Lincs at 9-53am.

I was hoeing the Brussel patch in the kitchen garden of a big house..that was once very nearly demolished to enable RAF Spilsby to operate…..

I stopped work and watched it as it steadily climbed out towards the coast….

G-ALFA? was around and about yesterday…

….and this afternoon just after 3pm..MK356 did a spirited series of flypasts over the Spilsby Show site…just across the road from here.. 🙂

3-28pm…Paul Day in Spitfire T09 was about to the South of Spilsby prior to display at East Kirkby Rover car club? event.
