Hi MConrads
The correct version of the Portuguese Meko’s is should include the 100mm Gun of the second link on first link:
The first link show a Portuguese Meko with 127mm gun, which is incorrect.
Our Meko’s have 100mm french type main gun instead.
The second drawing has the correct 100mm french type main gun, but both masts are incorrect.

Hi,
a few questions about USS Trenton/INS Jalashva LPD on IN service:
1) what’s the current armament of the USS Trenton/INS Jalashva LPD?
2) Which helicopters should be used by Indian Navy aboard?
3) Regarding the Vulcan CIWS, IN usualy operate Russian CIWS like AK-630 and AK-230. Is there any intention to replace the Vulcan CIWS in order to guarantee standarts with others ship’s fleet?
thanks
Ayala
Nice eh, a useless radar dome behind the propellor.
useless ? why?
Ayala
That would be the Hindi language (spefically the Devanagari script). The word is “Nausena” meaning Navy.
Hindu refers to a religion, not a language.
thanks for the explanation!
Ayala
Hi,
India Sea Kings have inscriptions in Hindu (I guess) on the fuselage:

@Ayala
Now here is a link for you:
http://worldnavy.info/photogallery/frigates/godavary_1.html
and here is my theory: The Pic nr 11 you see on the Helodeck the number “g 1”
I think the markings are :
F20 has G 0
F21 has G 1
F22 has G 2
what do you mean ?
I agree with you that F20 should have G 0 on the flight deck, but I never managed to get a photo to confirm such theory.
Thanks for the link, great photos!
Ayala
@AyalaBotto
Pse can you show me pics from your 1/700 Godavari Frigate ?
I’m also a ship modeler and search a long time for indian navy ships scale 1/700.
Is your a kit or an scratch build ?Greets Mario
Mario,
My 1/700 Brahmaputra is scratchbuilt and you can look for photos on this link:
http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery/ff/ins/Brahamputra-700-ab/ab-index.html
1/700 Godavari is resin model from Kobo-Hiryu. Check Pacific Front Web Site.
Let me know your email and I’ll send you a couple of photos. I’m still looking for small details about the flight deck markings to finish the model. Otherwise is completed.
May be you could help me about this issue:

Ayala
Hi,
I’m quite confused about the multiple versions of PLAN Frigates and Destroyers, as well as the versions of each one.
I managed to find the folowing version of Frigates and Destroyers of the PLAN:
Destroyers:
Type 051 Luda
Type 052 Luhu
Type 054 Luhai
Type 956 Sovremenny
Figates:
Type 053 Jianghu
Type 054A Jiangkai
Type 055 Jiangwei
Yet it seems to exist modified versions of the main ship class, as Type 054A, Type 051C, Type 052B, Type 052C etc.
Can anybody complete the above list of Frigates and Destroyers of the PLAN, with links with data and photos of each version of Destroyers and Frigates?
thanks in advance

Hi,
I just finish my 1/700 Godavari Frigate, and it’s now time to apply decals.
Godavari has F20 as pennant number, however I do not have any photo with the markings on the flight deck
As an example, F22 Ganga of the same class, as the marks “G 2” in the flight deck as the photos above shows:

I wonder what markings shoud have F20 Godavari in the flight deck?
More details of this class are available at:

Thanks in advance
Ayala
What about 052D? Any image?
this is the best I could find……

I wonder why Trumpeter doesn’t produce the kirov series and the slavas in 1/350? 1/700 is too small. What will be happen with the Varuag second carrier? Chinese have a ready carrier!! They should put it into service with the PLAN. Does any one has recent information?
Sovremenny at 1/350 scale:

It is possible to built the two first Chinese Soveremennys in 1/700 – Hangzhou and Fuzhou – with the new Dragon kit. This kits also includes the Chinese pennant numbers.
You need for a conversion to the new Taizhou perhaps Trumpeter’s kit of the Kirov class, because it includes nice Kashtans-CIWS (if you buy Kirov or Frunce, you can still built her).
Dou you have good drawings of the Taizhou which shows the new after superstructure?
You’re right about the new Dragon Kit.
I bought it last week and includes Chinese Pennant Numbers as well as PE for the mast, radars, rails, etc. A very nice kit indeed!
As for the Taizhou, which is the version I intend to build, I just have the photos and plans available in the WEB, or posted on previous posts of this thread by other users.
I guess I’ll managed build it with the those photos and plans available.
Regarding the Kashtans-CIWS, I have a spare of four, which I intend to use on Taizhou and Krivak III.
regards
Ayala
thank you all for the photos and links!
Regarding the models, none of the existing models availabe in the market at any scale, provides the PLAN version, which must be scratchbuilt.
That’s the reason I want to build it at 1/700 scale, and for that I need all the schemes, plans, photos and data I could possibly gater.
The russian version of Sovremenny is available in many scales. As far as I know it´s available at 1/700, 1/350 and 1/200.
regards
Ayala
thank you all for the photos!
more photos are always wellcome!
BTW, did you notice the 2 ships in last photo doesn’t have pennant numbers?
