Another Aeroboot update from Newark:
“A fresh mailing to around 70 sellers on our mailing list has just been completed for the Outdoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble on Sat 3rd July 2021 – we have space for around 50 sellers!
Face to Face Aviation Trading!
Sorry that it wasn’t very productive; Geary is quite a common name in and around Newark so there are several local connections to ‘Patrick’!
I managed to access the building this morning and we have a different Geary, who was awarded the DFM – details in the attached photo!
An interesting post, which will make me do some checking in the Small Object Display Building at Newark Air Museum (NAM) when I next get the chance.
NAM has a member, P Geary who used to volunteer as a cockpit opener and I know that they have a display about one of his relatives, who I also believe was awarded the DFC. A possible link/connection?
Newark Aeroboot update:
“Gentle reminder to sellers who had spaces booked at our cancelled sale in 2020 – you have until 18.04.21 to confirm your space for the Outdoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble on Sat 3rd July – after that we’ll open up spaces to all other sellers!
A reminder doing the rounds from Newark Air Museum.
“One week today, on Friday 16th April we will be reopening our Gateway Aviation Site so people can once again enjoy our outside display areas & partake in some retail therapy in the Museum Shop.
Every museum visit Will Count!
Thank you, I will send you feedback to those many museum volunteers & members of staff who did the hard work; still more to do and many varied challenges ahead; in times that could see various changes across the wider aviation museums’ sector.
More good news about re-opening coming through:
“Confirmed details about the museum’s Re-Opening plans commencing Friday 16th April 2021 are now on the website – outside display areas only to start with!
Another update from Newark:
“Further updates have been made to the Spruce Up Gallery to feature the work from yesterday & today!
http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/2021_Reopening_Spruce_Up
We’re getting there thanks to some very hardy & dedicated volunteers & staff!”
More in form Newark Air Museum:
“A new Photo Gallery has been added to the museum website that highlights the spruce-up work that’s now underway as the museum moves towards reopening its external display areas on 16th April 2021.
Fresh NAM Aeroboot/Aerojumble info picked up from elsewhere:
“This morning we held a brief socially distanced site meeting to explore the possibility of expanding the number of spaces that will be available for the Outdoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble on Sat 3rd July 2021.
This has been made possible as there will be no visiting cockpit displays as would normally be on site for this sale; further details will follow once the options have been evaluated.
‘In-person’ aviation trading!
Aeroboot/Aerojumble update doing the rounds!
“Re-booking details have just been emailed out for the Outdoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble on Sat 3rd July, initially this is just to those sellers that had spaces booked at our cancelled sale in 2020 – other opportunities will be advised after 18.04.21
You may well be right about the Burma ‘debate’!
I doubt even that topic can inject any more interest into this place!
