Banger ??? are we talking Sausage or small cardboard explosive thingie, the chinese type of which was much sort after in my youth (& still now) as opposed to the weak & feeble Standard model. No good in fresh cowpats what so ever.

No, it was self depreciating humour. The beer is having a bad effect on my typing.

I’m trying to get back to Blighty, I’ve just caught a couple of rounds in the Starboard outer. Port inner is looking a bit dodgy as well.

Wasn’t all that plastic bad with all that hot German flak thingy ? I lost quite a few plastic planes on OPs in the back garden over the years. Can’t have been good for real planes. Did they get sent out on missions with humbrol no. 33 glue or Liquid Poly ?

Shondell ? are you sure.? we used to do those in the glider. It involved diving at the airfield as fast as a K13 would, pulling up up (double UP is more extreme)whilst screaming like mad b*ggers, letting the airspeed decay, then giving it bootfulls of rudder at the top. I was a baby pilot at the time. Any further explaination is welcome.

Cheers Flood. Local estimates are 12,000 lost, kind of puts in perspective what we worry about these days.
