Well if Eurofighter is anything to go by I wouldn’t hold your breath.

On a personnal note, It will be sad to see them go. I grew up on the edge of Salisbury Plain & spent many happy summer evenings watching them fly overhead at an alledged minimum of 250ft.
Here is a good pic I found that sums it up.

It’ll be like losing a old friend.

Having seen a friends laminated escort windscreen crack after he poured a jug of boiling water over it, I’ll stick to de-icer. I’ve had it so cold one morning that the hot water froze before you could wipe it off with the scraper.

    Flood,

Well, you know what they say, “If you can’t beat them, join them”. Though judging by your comments you’ed actually like to beat them.

btw, I subscribe to Miniworld magazine as well as Flypast.

    Phil,

Careful with that jug of hot water, if it is too hot you may crack the screen.

I had to drive from south of Frankfurt to just south of Brussels this morning. The temperature varied along the route from about 2 to -5 degrees.

    Flood,

What you fail to understand is that part of mini ownership is that you have to “bond’ with them. Part of this ritual is coaxing them into life in the morning. It makes it all the more satisfying driving into work. It would be quite easy to buy a vauxhall Nova for the same price, but that’s missing the point.

The tail markings are different. Could it be a visiting a/c ?

Also, the quality of the pic is of such a state that I’m not sure it isn’t a set of Airstairs !

Nope, none of the above are fully viable til you have affordable, reliable access to orbit. Every fewyears we go through a trough were all the launchers start playing up. A replacement IS needed for the shuttle which is nowhere near as reusable as it is made out to be.

My current favourite option is the Space elevator which I have mentioned before. See here:
