Maybe we should have some sort of database of items that have gone missing to allow us to check things like this. It would mean we are protected & we could help recover items. There seem to be some every couple of issues of Flypast. They must go somewhere.
I wonder if webbie could set this up. Add stolen items to the database if you see them reported missing in your local/national paper. If you see something at a car boot sale or on the web you can check it out.
What do you reckon ?
I have.
Well they got the 4.3 litre 330 BHP TVR Tuscan engine in the Westfield 330. I reckon with a bit of extra bracing here & there it would fit. I’d have to leave of the bonnet though & fit a periscope to see over the top. Still, it’s a challenge.
I’d have to get a fat girlfriend too, to stop the back wheels spinning.
Though I am flirting between here & ebay.
So I could fit it in my kitcar then?
Is the Meteor at all related to the Merlin, i.e. no supercharger/aero bits ?
The German description says it has come out of a racing boat, hence the lack of supercharger, I assumed.
I suppose it is nice to know there is still stuff out there. Maybe someone has a Stirling in their shed.
I’m here.
Thanks Steve, but no. This is my ground based Spitfire/SE5A/Mustang simulator.
I did have alook “here” & most enjoyable it was. The Alpine shots are always good.
Careful Kenneth. Caterham indeed. I’ve met your type. What you need is one of these.
I’ve read some reviews on the 100-400 mm that don’t like the sliding zoom & find the zoom lock difficult to operate. Do you find this ?
Whilst on the subject of foxes here is one from Michelstadt airshow a couple of years ago using “old” technology in the form of a Canon EOS300. I think you all know the “Foxylady”.
Thanks Kenneth, it’s taken a fair few years to get to this stage. I use a Canon D60 with either a 28-105mm, f3.5-4.5 or 75-300mm f4.0-5.6.
Next toy would be the Canon 100-400 zoom lense if my website, http://www.gear-tooth.com, generates any income.
I always liked the Kitfox, sorry Eurofox (It has it plastered on the nose, doh), though it does look a bit flimsy up close. Having built a Westfield kitcar with a spaceframe chassis, the Kitfox structural tubes look a bit wee. I also spent three years studying Aerospace engineering & they still look wee.
Nice Navion. Am I right in thinking this one, the rangemaster, doesn’t have a sliding canopy (no break line) like the military version.
Whlist on Kit planes, I fancy one of those miniturised “Storch” kits. Pictures anyone.
Lovely, good to see one around again. I’d say go for the Spanish markings, if only for one season.
I still have this uneasy feeling about it not being a real “601” engined beast. I now there aren’t that many about, and most of those are currently “broken”. Maybe I’ve been living in Germany too long.
Incommiiingg……
I’d best find another forum to visit after this.
The trams & buses around here are brilliant. It should be noted that I am a Brit currently residing in Germany. The trains can be a bit iffy, but no where near as bad as UK. The buses appear to have a radio transmitter that changes the traffic lights in their favour.
