I recently read that the Tr spitfire that crashed fatally at Goodwood was to be rebuilt to flying condition. Unfortunately I don’t recollect where I read this.
It’s not a lack of fitness Geforce. It’s because we are British & therefore not designed for such operating conditions. Give us some soggyness & a bit of wind & we’ll all be happy again.

I know how you feel Flood. It got up to 42 degrees in one of the offices at work yesterday. Fortunately we have an air conditioned control room to hide in.
Try a few beers, that may work, if not, at least get the cat drunk to calm it down.
You have to laugh at the state of transport in Britain. I’ve been out in Germany for 3 years & the local buses & trams are superb whatever the weather. It’s not like it never gets hot or snows in the UK is it, yet it all goes to pieces every year.
Sorry for ranting. I think the heat has got to me. Going back to bed now.

This got me going through the archives. If I remember correctly there used to be a pedestrian bridge at the Hatton Cross end that gave quite good views. There was also alot of bus links to Hatton Cross as well as the tube.
Here are some old pics from the queens building, circa early1989 taken with a 80-200mm lens. Air UK 146 with a smilie face on it.
Would I be right in thinking the TwinPin is used as a ground handling training aid ?
Finally, one for the aeromodellers.
