I’ll see what I can get for you as I’m looking at a few today.

As the others have said, 2 12V car batteries will do the trick or a 24V truck battery. They will not last long though without external power, in my cockpit I have a large 28V power supply (turned down to 26V) which I bought off the net and which I plug into mains power. When you get around to powering it up try and pull as many fuses for items that you won’t see but use power such as radios and pitot heaters.

This is ‘similar’ to my power supply although I paid a lot less for mine, just posting it up to give you as many ideas as possible.

    Hi Swifter,
I can ‘reply’ with no problems from my home computer but the work computer seems to block it even when I am logged in, could it be the same for you?

    Hi Willie

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the info, I have been corresponding with an ejection seat expert in Hungary who has helped me out a lot and I have nearly sorted out my problems. If you are ever in Melb feel free to look me up.

    Cheers Paul

This type of lamp continued into post war use. My Canberra cockpit has the socket for them on the side of the ‘dome’ lights at the Navs position, people have posted photos of them on the Canberra forum as well.

Ha! That is the bus stop from where I used to catch the bus home from school. Outside Glen Waverley train station.

Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) made buses for a few years…

The original thread had lots of very useful information such as stuff about Nth African Ops, Landing grounds, construction of P40’s and differences between variants, Curtiss ship numbers, 260 Sqn history etc….

    G’day
I nearly posted the exact same question earlier today. My recollection of the original thread was that it was closed temporarily pending some sort of announcement. Can the moderators or webbie go back to the people who requested it be closed and ask whether it can be reviewed.

    Hi Howard
Are the checks the wrong way around as well? In TonyTs photo it is blue on top at the front whereas yours is yellow on top. I have seen similar things with the 31 Sqn checks although I know there is a correct way (can’t remember at the moment though).

Has anyone gone directly to the source and actually called Tim Manna? Surely he would be able to answer some basic questions.
My personal view is still that given the cut harness straps Dennis never exited the cockpit by himself.
