Would it be prudent to collect DNA samples from the surviving relatives now so that they can be used in the future even if the donor has passed.
Just a guess here Mike, in the photo you are using above it appears the left and right hand beams have angled mounting points at the top, could the right hand beam have the apex of the triangular cutout extended on the inner face? You will need to find a photo of the other side of either the left or right hand beams to compare them.

I’m interested in more photos.
Thanks Paul
I think the back of the Anson photo says RAF OFFICIAL.
As pogno said, it is explained on their blog. The inward turning props at the bottom caused the central wing to stall and it was barely flyable.
Yes you’re right Andy, wrinkle finish it is.
Hi Ed,
I believe that you can buy ‘crackle finish’ paint that crackles by itself.
Paul
Hi Rob,
I like your idea but would prefer to have it all look old in this case, in fact I’ve liked that idea for a long time and have this Grumman Mohawk cockpit in storage until I’ve finished with some of my other projects when I’ll get to work on it. My plan is to draw a line down the centre, keep the starboard side exactly as it is now and restore the port side to ‘as new’ condition, should look good (I think anyway).
Hello Mr Fouga,
the main panel is roughly 4 feet wide and 2 feet high – that’s a big bucket of screws.
Cheers Paul
Further to my post above here are some pics of an original Lincoln landing lamp switch and bracket. The finish on it is pretty ordinary and I don’t think I could make something look so dodgy even if I tried. My problem is making everything else look old and beaten up so items like this don’t look out of place, a perfect finish is easy to do in comparison.

Hi Geoff, I’ve sent you a PM.

Does anybody have any tips on ‘aging’ a new build panel to make it look old? I have a lot of original Lincoln pieces and want to incorporate them without restoration but need the rest of the panel to look 60 years old as well.
Cheers Paul
Hi Jesper
Since I started the other thread you refer to I thought I better reply here, I have very little hands on experience with WW2 aircraft but am learning quickly. Attached is a photo of 2 small fragments of AVRO Lincoln cockpit rail that go behind the skin I was asking about, a quick going over gives the following measurements between rivets;
Top row Port 52mm, 55mm
Top row Starboard 52mm, 52mm
Middle row Port 14, 18, 22, 25, 25, 16, 20mm
Middle row Starboard 16, 23, 27, 26, 28, 30mm
Read into this what you will.
Regards Paul
Thanks for the replies everyone, I was confused by some duff information.
Cheers Paul
Thanks Peter
Now if someone has the drawings for a late model Lanc or Lincoln glareshield with the 2 raised portions I would be very interested. Even some photos with dimensions are all I need. I’ve got the 2 triangular side sections covered but not the middle part.
Cheers Paul
Hi Peter,
the cockpit rail sections are original Lincoln, the fuselage sides are actually from a Macchi trainer that have the correct profile. Here’s some more photos, it’ll look a bit different when I’ve got former E and the glareshield sorted out.
