I don’t think it matters how the terrorist vermin in Guantanamo Bay is treated.
Did Al Qaeda care when they hijacked those four planes, hacked open the passengers throats, forced other passengers to the back of the aircraft and made them phone their loved ones to tell them they were about to be murdered? Did they care when they rammed the planes into buildings, causing a huge fireball and literally melting hundreds of people? Did they care when two of the buildings collapsed, killing thousands of innocent people, including over 300 members of the New York Fire Department?
No, they did not, they bloody well celebrated it!!!!!!!!!
Those who go whining on about protecting the rights of terrorists and bloody criminals really make me want to vomit. The treatment they are receiving in Cuba is too bloody good for them – they have no right to live and neither have any of their followers, and I don’t care if I offend anyone with that view because the constant moaning of the bloody human rights brigade and Amnesty International and other holier-than-thou individuals is sick and disgusting.
Got it in one Rabie!!
Got it in one Rabie!!
I would say John Derry during September 1948 when he became the first British pilot to exceed the speed of sound in a British aircraft (the DH108). He achieved this feat on 6th September 1948 and became one of the most highly respected British test pilots of the time. Also if I went back to that era as John Derry I would obviously have prior knowledge of the fate that befell him and Tony Richards (his observer in the DH110) at Farnborough on 6th September 1952.
ELP – Don’t EVER lump me with pacifists. I am no supporter of the Stop the War Coalition – they were established after September 11th to campaign against the proper punishment of al-Qaeda. Anyone who carries their banners or joins their marches is thereby indicating support for Bin Laden and his odious ilk. Why are they opposed to a war against terrorists? Because they are not opposed to terrorists, that’s why!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to see that aircraft.
I don’t think that any conflict can be resolved quickly, however much everyone hopes it can be. The allies were foolish if they expected little or no resistance from the Iraqis, the bad thing is the number of casualties. Yesterday a British news reporting team went missing in Iraq, and they are now presumed dead. Then there are all the forces personnel who have been killed, the Iraqi civilians who have been affected (no concrete numbers of casualties available).

This one – the best that British Airways had – very smart looking, much better than current one and better than previous one which just said “British”.
I also like the colour scheme in Frank’s posting – the best one that Sabena ever had.
There are many reasons to love the US – it is such a vast country with lots of beautiful stunning scenery. The people I’ve met there have been genuinely friendly and helpful, especially when they find out you’re a Brit (the number of people I used to meet who told me of holidays they’d had in Britain, how they love our Queen, etc). I like the American people and I’m proud to say so.
Keltic gave many good reasons, I agree about George Gershwin – superb composer and very talented. The food is superb – I had never heard of mahi-mahi (I think I spelled it right) fish before I went to Hawaii and a couple of New Zealanders recommended it, it is superb and everyone should try it. Also I had the best jacket potato ever at a Mexican stall in the Beverly Center in LA, a huge one filled with hot melted cheese, so hot it melted the carton they’d served it in. The orange juice is superb – really thick with bits of fruit pulp. I adore bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. The only thing I didn’t like in America was the tea – really weak and served in huge cups.

I know how you feel Saab, I was quite fascinated by the sound of last week’s Horizon programme, it is so maddening when everything is cancelled for the war coverage, especially when the same footage is being shown repeatedly, though very little seemed to have been altered in yesterday’s schedules. I shall keep an eye open for the plane crash programme and remain optimistic that it will actually be shown on time!!
Comet – I’ve just checked my profile and it says 1993 for my year of birth too, though I can assure everyone I’m not a child!!! I didn’t add 1993 to my profile, so I would like to bet that there’s a glitch in the system somewhere.
