Having hunted down this old thread, and in the spirit of optimism, for a new start to the Forum, I thought I’d a add few piccys from this year, all work was done in a six week period back in July-Aug; it puts the project back on track (about 10 years back, but hey still back)

Header’s not fixed; it’s hard to be positive when there is so much wrong with a site that was perfectly good.

There was  a time when this forum was without doubt the best of the bunch, in the main friendly, and populated by very knowledgeable  people; it hasn’t been that for quite a while, the way people use the internet has changed and members have been lost, but now in the same way British politicians are a laughing stock of the world, this forum has become the laughing stock  of the aviation community.

It fails the friendly community test on the front page, where you used to feel welcome, and clicking on threads would show up those who were reading/commenting; every bit of this forum is (to be blunt) crap, and the photos that basically made the “place” live are so absent that it feels a sterile as a hospital notice board.

As a member for nearly 14 years, I am more than disappointed that all of my photos have disappeared together with threads that I started, and indeed all personal information about me, and everyone else, again part of what made this a community.

If this forum served no other purpose than that of a meeting place,(and lets face it, over 20 odd years much of what has been posted on here, has made it’s way into one or another of their magazines)  KEY should have been proud of this, as something they had facilitated,; now look at it, a major own goal guys.

Is it too early to ask what has become of the photos previously residing in “my account”?

Might be worth pointing out to Key, that if they don’t sort this out soon, their attempts at generating more revenue, via this change will come to nought; at the time of the last forum upheaval, a similar thing happened to a car forum I am a member of, it really only boiled down to a log in change, but I reckon they have lost 70% of the membership (I get the feeling those who left got fed up with the site owners attitude)

Wat is this drop down banner/curtain thing that keeps moving (up and down)and obscuring the top post?

At the time of the last forum migration, I remember preaching tolerance, in the hope that it would sort itself out, personally I don’t think it ever did, and was definitely a factor in my not using this forum as I used to; this is however much worse, whether a temporary layout I know not, but if it doesn’t return to a more user friendly format there will be no need for moderators at all.

I would agree, with Trumper and they have my gratitude; a thankless task at the best of times, I didn’t always agree with the style of moderation, or even the need for it, but accept that much of it was forced upon the moderators, from the site owners
