Advert says “not sure who made it”, it definately wasn’t the seller, as it doesn’t appear to be held together with plaster of paris….
Thats them (him).
Pete, that last comment might be considered as being in very poor taste – but I laughed anyway 😀 😀

I thought he meant miss Peabody….
[QUOTE=PaulR;1093828]Ooops… I forgot the B24s! And the Dakotas (what sort of bomb load did they carry, I wonder?).
They carried the B26’s which explains why one minute they aren’t there, and the next they are!
Clearly on the road to self enlightenment, you have to look at all the scenary, or in this case, all the pics!!
I’d often wondered about the wreath, well past rememberance sunday; I used to “visit” the Billericay Air Cadets (mainly on film nights) in the early 70’s never joined though, I was an Army cadet for a couple of weeks, that put me off.
It`s an early Merlin II for a Hurricane.
One of the firstNice find.
Pete
You know too much!!; whats that pump thingy where the starter motor should be?
Looks like a Merlin III; not many of those about in this condition.
A missed opportunity there, Merlin Pete!!
Can’t be the one on the left ,her pants aren’t brown, the one on the right is brown all over ,so when he takes his trousers off his pants don’t show.
R.e colour schemes, why not forget that it could have been a mk VIII, (as you are making a few modifications any way) , that way you can paint it in any scheme that you want.
I’ll have you know my underpants are brown; I change them once a month ,whether they need it or not…
Yeah I know, but I couldn’t resist it! ;no slur intended.
You could always paint it PR pink, it would match the PR*** inside!!
A joke, obviously!!
If only he had watched “Flight of the Pheonix” as many times as me , he’d have repaired it in the field and flown it out!
I don’t know much about Clive’s method of construction , although I believe that it is different to the Jurca design, I can only think that anyone single minded enough to design and build a Spitfire (from scratch)and fly it etc, etc, wouldn’t be thinking about crashing it and the (susequent recovery),i.e failure is not an option; I think he just had some real bad luck, I also think the Jag V12 is a good choice of engine 60′ “V” and all alloy, with electronic injection or carbs as an option; even the Merlin didn’t have that!!
