    Look up mediaeval Bulgaria.

Also, the end of the Russo-Turkish war of the 1870s. The WW2 Bulgaria was slightly smaller than the borders agreed to in 1878 under the Treaty of San Stefano, before pressure from Britain, Germany, Austria etc. forced the Russians to back down, & a much smaller Bulgaria was agreed to in the Treaty of Berlin..

I was being sarcastic. Bulgaria did increase and decrease in size at varios stages, but so did many other countries / empires around the world.

Bulgarians need to snap out of their fantasy of a greater Bulgaria and accept the current situation as reality. That goes for certain other countries in the Balkans

who are the bulgar macedons. are you refering to the Macedonian population in western bulgaria, “Pirinska Macedonia” and groups like OMO “Ilinden” – Pirin.

“One large bulgarian nation”, the only one i can ever remember is the territory that bulgars occupied from its neighbours in WWII during its alliance with nazi germany

I found the following pictures of mil mi-171 on the macedonian aviation forum avijacija.com.mk posted by aviator. it is thought that they are the ones delivered to the iraq air force as mentioned at the start of this thread

it is claimed that they are the four new helicopters recently purchased by the macedonian ministry of internal affairs

after gaining independance in 1991, and being striped of all significant defence capabilities by the retreating JNA (Jugoslovenska narodna armija)including its portion of the airforce, the first jet aircraft operated by the Macedonian Airforce is the SU-25A and SU-25UB.
They wre aquired in 2001 together with 12 mil mi-24 during the conflict against albanian terrorists
