Mixtec, glad you like it. I think it is a good quiz no matter where you stand politically. I think I’ll post it again as a seperate thread.

I too am a Libertarian and I don’t like really voting for Republicans because it is a compromise on principle. But that’s the curse of politics. I don’t think a Libertarian will ever get elected because too many people vote on emotion and not facts and logic. Just trying to get people to stop thinking of the federal govt as their sugar daddy would be an accomplishment in itself. Libertarian ideals are much too radical for mainstream soccer moms and scared seniors. Credit your dumb ass public schools, socialist liberals and whimp Republicans for that. This right/left ideology is too simplistic, take this short quiz to see where you stand, even for our European “friends”: http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html

“Who says liberal democrats believe in seperating church and state? To a liberal democrat, government is God.”

I’m part of the vast right-wing conspiracy in America and nobody mentioned real bullets me. Oh I remember, we tipped one of the pilots to strafe the crowd.

Air shows are crowded here in the US too. I’ve given up on taking good pictures of stuff while it’s on the ground. At most airshows there is quite a large play area for kiddies. We need one for the adults I think. Huge screen TV with a soccer (football) match or a bikini contest. Did I say cheap beer? Police and ambulance standing by…

Seriously, if they are going going to charge you extra, they should make it worth it. Here in Cleveland, the air show has a “value package” for eight people: http://www.clevelandairshow.com/entertaining.htm

    Is it worth $50/head? I don’t know.

Too bad they don’t allow rubber bullets at air shows.

I don’t know if the 737 was ever called Fat Albert, but the Boeing 747 was. It seems that the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy also has that nickname.

Hard to say. It seems that the charter airlines are getting most of what would be the main customer base for low-cost/service flights. Certainly the business flyer wants business class service and comforts. Virgin Atlantic is the transatlantic JetBlue. The seasonal nature of passenger demand might make it hard for year ’round ops. Unless it becomes popular to head over to London or New York for the weekend it would probably be impractical. Just try to negoatiate a free and open transatlantic operation under current laws and airport slots! Good luck and nevermind the big 3 airline alliances. You haven’t seen over capacity yet! Sale $59 New York to London (plus $99 in sales tax, airport tax, terrorism tax, departure tax, meal tax, landing tax, entertainment tax, alcohol tax, baggage tax, environmental tax, lounge tax, because you got money tax….you get the idea.)

THE SPENDING CONSUMER DESERVES CREDIT FOR A GOOD ECONOMY NOT ANY POLITICIAN OR PARTY! Any president can sign a bill that will boost the economy be it Bush (tax cuts) or Clinton (balanced budget). Bush’s and the Congress’ small tax cut worked to revive the economy. The Congress, not the president sets the agenda, but the Pres can of course influence it with a veto threat. As far as balanced budgets go, it should be noted that it only happened after the Republicans won the control of the Congress and congressional Republicans and Clinton deserve proper credit for passing it. Unfortunately, current Republicans seems to have abondoned this idea. Liberal dems would only make the situation worse. Gingrich didn’t cause any crisis in the goverment; it’s no different than current Dems railroading Bush’s judicial nominees or whimp Texas democrats running to OK so that don’t have to vote. Clinton is an idiot, if he admitted he had the affair and didn’t lie about it under oath, he would have not been impeached. Being dumb: having sex with intern; Actually Stupid: lying about it under oath. Clinton should have been removed from power for the latter, but too many Republican whimps inhabit the Senate (Trent Lott).

The only plus side to his announcement is that the Patriot Point Naval & Maritime Museum might have gotten some cash in the deal. I think if Kerry could have landed on the Yorktown he would have – trying to match Bush in the S-3. It’s a shame all these dumb-o-crats cant loose next year!

No president (including Clinton) really controls the economy for good or bad; he can only sign what the Congress send him. The consumer controls the economy. The consumer (hence the economy) can be encouraged with tax cuts and low interest rates and discouraged with high taxes, high interest rates, political instability, and the negative liberal/socialist press.

Rush is right, Howard Dean for President! (until the democrat convention)
