Hi gents, the answer can be found on wix facebook, apparently the website maxed out the server, regards,Pete

Maybe I don’t understand how it works but I’m not surprized. All those annoying ads loading with each and every page not only slow things down but must put a strain on something, right?

Great footage but it’s difficult finding a clean sound recording of a Sabre engine starting, taxying, idling or at full power…

I don’t know your definition of “clean sound recording” but there’s one at the Hawker Tempest Page: tempest.wav

I have three more downloaded from the web but I have no time right now to find them again. Maybe later if you like the first one.

Those drawings are often very large = impossible to photo copy but if you want me to, I can check with the Swedish Soaring Federation. We have had many Bergfalkes in Sweden.

    Lee,

… so as you can see her “first flight” was some time ago.

I was discussing the engine. I honestly don’t know what I’m talking about but I received a PM from a member saying:

I’ve seen the engine all stripped down, and it is a new unused engine.

A new unused Centaurus might have better chances of being a “long term runner” than those recently rebuilt engines (presumably not new unused) that have developed problems.

Hi Christer, the Centaurus is being rebuilt by Kennet Aviation, as was the airframe.

Hi Tiger (hmm, I don’t like the sound of that … :p …),
    thanks for the information.

I thought that you needed a specific license to do that kind of work and have wondered what holds up the rebuild of the Centaurus for MW 763.

I’m looking forward to the news of test runs and first flight!

She will return soon to North Weald after repaint at Yeovilton, and be reunited with her rebuilt Centaurus, which is going back together quite nicely as photos show:D

May I ask where/who is rebuilding it?

    scion,
the basis for separating liability (third party) and pilot/passenger is consent in the case of the passenger. He/she is assumed to know what he/she is getting into and is covered if injured but cannot sue for liability. People may try to sue anyway and in the US, there are many people making a living from it. They are called lawyers … … and maybe that’s a factor in the decision made by your insurance company to not cover the US.

Let me relate an incident which is on going.

I operate DH 89a Dragon Rapide VH-UTV and went to the HARS airshow at Albion Park this year.

I gave 2 HARS members, and I am also a member, a flight to the show and return. No money changed hands.

On return to Bankstown one of these men jumped/fell from the wing root before the aeroplane was properly shut down and broke his leg.

He has threatened to sue and wishes now monies for “pain ans suffering” as he puts it. This annoys me intensly.

I am covered by 3rd party insurance but he seems to be keeping from starting legal action untill he is sure if he can get monies also for a potential hip replacement as he is elderly.

you need, repeat need 3rd party insurance.

Sorry for butting in but this is confusing. I’m responsible for running a gliding club (in Sweden) and approximately 25% of the income is from selling gift certificates for rides in a two-seater. The insurance is split three ways: hull value, pilot/passenger and liability. In case of an accident, medical care of the occupants is covered by the pilot/passenger part and any damage or injury to property or people outside the aircraft (in our case, glider) is covered by the liability part.

If a passenger injures him/herself while getting in or out wouldn’t have a case for liability.

    Is this an old photo?

If not, whose is the third 2 seater? Is it Mr P Bayliss or is it Mr P Shop?

I believe it’s an old photo and the third of “A pair of Dutch Tr.IX Spitfires…” (sorry … 😮 … couldn’t resist) would be H97.

The photo is B/W making it difficult to tell but I think so. The alternative to dark sea grey would be brown, right? That would look darker on a B/W photo compared to dark sea grey.

    Christer

Edited: I’ve been looking at the same photo (in flight) as Mark 12 posted.
