RE: Downloading : how dangerous is it?
GZYL!
Which program did You run?
Where on the net did You find it?
Does it identify and remove all such files or was it specifically the one You had?
Thanks in advance,
Christer 🙂

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-08-02 AT 01:30Â PM (GMT)]Steve,
maybe You don´t have to go anywhere, not far at least.
I checked the swedish register and this came up:
Registration, SE-BON
Serial number, WB569
Registered, 21-04-97
C of A expired, 30-04-98
Registration cancelled, 08-10-99, sold to England
Is it going back to Sweden once again?
Christer 🙂
RE: Breguet 14T-bis
I´m only happy to return a favour, and I still owe You a few.
Looking forward to some more photos.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-08-02 AT 07:54Â PM (GMT)]Hi KeithMac!
I don´t know if You did but, I did a Google search and came up with two russian sites:
http://www.airwar.ru/enc/bww1/br14.html
http://www.cofe.ru/avia/B/B-161.htm
There´s an on-line translator which translates web pages:
http://www.translate.ru/eng/erre.asp
Choose “Web page” and “Russian-English translation”.
It doesn´t get everything right but, I hope it helps.
Regards,
Christer 🙂
A second search, on Breguet only, came up with this:
http://seppe.members.easyspace.com/BREGUE14.HTM
There´s quite a few links in it.
RE: Windows XP
Does this mean that if you shut down your PC as often as you shut down yourself, which means at the end of the day, you´ll be OK with WinXp?
Anyone know when Sp1 for WinXp is due?

RE: Spitfire design variations
Hi Wombat!
The first Spitfire to be converted to low back configuration was a Mk.VIII, JF299. It went to Boscombe Down for trials in September 1943.
NH741, a MK.XIV, was the first production aircraft with RV fuselage and it was delivered in December 1944.
As You can see it took some time to introduce modifications into production and, as You point out, there were high back Mk.XIVs too, actually they out numbered the low back.
The Mks VIII, IX, XIV and XVI were delivered in high back and low back in parallel. The reason for this was that production was dispersed to many locations, even a single Mk was manufactured in different locations. Some factories re-tooled for low back production, others didn´t. It was more important to see the fighters coming off the production lines.
The Mk.18 came in low back only, the Mk XIX came in high back only.
In the twenty series the Mk.21 were all high back and the Mks.22 and 24 were all low backs.
Hope this helps,
Christer 🙂
RE: Miles Gemini
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-08-02 AT 12:32Â PM (GMT)]I found this web page:
http://www.bigwig.net/museumofberkshireaviation/mba.htm
which indicate that my information was either wrong in the first place or out dated.
There are four in the UK:
G-AKHP, G-AKKB, G-AKKH, G-AKVZ
There is one in New Zealand:
ZK-ANT
There is one in Sweden:
SE-AYM
Christer
Another mistake: SE-AYM came to Sweden in November 1950.
My trigger happy index fingers make me feel like a :+
RE: Miles Gemini
Hi Phil!
There´s a Gemini in Sweden that has been under long term restoration to airworthiness. It´s located at a private airfield not far from where I live. The current owner inherited the aircraft from his father who brought it to Sweden in the late sixties or early seventies (IIRC that is).
The entry in the EAA register:
Registration: SE-AYM
Type: Miles M65 Gemini
Serial: 6296-707
Owner: Björn Esbjörnsson, KÅGERÖD
Status: 96% complete
Some ten years ago I was told that, apart from the one in Sweden which was potentionally airworthy, there was only one airworthy example in England. Much can have happened in ten years but, that´s the information I have.
Regards,
Christer 🙂
RE: Who restores them the best?
If I had the hardware, airframe and money that is, and Personal Plane Services could fit my project into their schedule, then I´d go with them. They´ve been in the business since before it became a civilian warbird movement. The competition were only eager looks in their mothers eyes at that time ……

RE: Having trouble staying logged in?
Thanks Ben, You´ve made my day!
I´m not crazy, I haven´t got sticky fingers, my ´puter isn´t a box of gremlins, I´m relieved!
As You point out, problems vary over time. The last few days it has worked pretty well.
Christer 🙂
RE: Having trouble staying logged in?
Thanks Pippin, I´ve been in contact with the webbie.
I was curious and posted this question to find out if I´m the only one and judging by the responses I am!?
Strange …… I´ve got a pet gremlin in my ´puter …… :+
RE: Self sealing fuel tanks + Spitfire
You´re welcome!!
Christer
RE: Self sealing fuel tanks + Spitfire
Neilly,
according to “Modifications Introduced To Spitfire MK I” as quoated in “Spitfire The History”:
Mod #223: Introduce Linatex covered lower fuel tank, 25-4-40
Mod #273: Fit self sealing to lower fuel tank, 27-7-40
Well, it seems like You´re correct!
Regards,
Christer
