R6915, I didn’t search for “Ben Allen” since I assumed too many hits (and I was right) but for “Ben Allen Photography”. I just wanted to check that I didn’t give credit to someone who isn’t entitled to it but I still don’t know – just taking the word of a stranger … ? … and I’ll leave it at that!
By the way: The “Facebook entry” and the identity of the aircraft was discussed in a private group and the link that was the initiation of the discussion is this one:
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1805850316216583&set=a.31057903574…
Ben Allen Photography and copyright is not mentioned but “Aero-Pictures” is.
So, again, please post a link to Ben Allen, his picture and his statement.
Just tripped across this image on Facebook.
I did a search on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Ben%20Allen%20Photography
I can’t tell who it is. Do you have a link to his picture and the statement?
but said Mr Allen has issued a comment saying words to the effect of …”either attribute it to me, or delete it”
I didn’t find any note about “copyright” where I found the original discussion and the picture but I’ve added it here!
Thanks ? !
There is a picture of AB910 on zap16.com (image number imgp7909) that matches the above right down to the whip aerial.
I searched for “image number imgp7909”, “imgp7909” and any other combination but nothing found.
Interesting thoughts, keep ’em coming guys!
A Canadian being first to Identify a particular Spitfire 😀
Well, your “guess” is probably far better than mine but I must admit that I was aiming at the resident Spitfire specialist, Peter Arnold. I don’t know if he’s still around?
Andy, would that be a in a”historical” photo or a more recent one?
I tried to get a working link to the Facebook entry but no luck. I just post it in plain text:
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1805850316216583&set=a.31057903574…
… which ended up as a link!
Today, in the Historic Aviation forum , 11 new posts were indicated but I counted to 27 …
It’s a mess. The indicated number of new posts never match the actual number of new posts found in the forum.
A few moments ago, I visited the Historic Aviation forum. The indicator said 6 new posts. I opened and closed all threads with a new post to “reset” the count. I closed the whole thing and reopened. Now, the indicator says 8 new posts but there are none.
(Maybe they are hiding somewhere on older pages but why a higher number after “resetting” a few threads with new posts?)
Christer: it looks to me as if the “Forum Updates / Issues” subforum is dead. I just looked at it and see no activity apart from your post you just mentioned for quite a while.
Laurence
Yes, that’s my conclusion too and the reason why I moved my question here.
I posted the question below in the “Forum Updates / Issues” subforum but no response. It has been a month of waiting and I make an attempt here before giving up but my hopes are not high:
Am I the only one who can’t find that button (if it exists)? There are topics of interest to me and others that are not. I don’t want to open every topic just to kill the new posts notification. Anyone with any comment would be appriciated but most of all, a “mark forum or all forums as read” button!
Now, please, do something about it!
And the ability to go to the last post in a 100+ page thread without having to scroll to the bottom of a page and click the >>.
When I click on a thread title, I get to the original post. If I click on the “# new post” notification, I get to the most recent post(s).
