British Army AH-64 Apache going towards Stansted approx 11:15 Monday. Anyone know if it landed there?
Great, thanks for the reply.
Two apaches over Epping 1745 last night fairly low. Heading watisham direction. Anyone know where they had been?
Sounds like the same. Covered the whole of the top of Norfolk multiple times then dissapeared again.
On flight radar around 15:00hrs yesterdy there was a flight no/call sign HAMAR22 over north Norfolk area. Anyone know what type it was?
That’s great. Thanks very much for the answers.
Merlin been orbiting Harlow then briefly touched down somewhere between the college and police station. Then went off westwards by the looks of things.
Anyone know what it was up to?
I’m aiming to have them all out the last Saturday and Sunday in January 2013. So if anyone would like to come over and see them they would be most welcome. I’ll stick a reminder on here nearer the time too.
Large Model Collection.
Some pictures of the hand carved and very early models we have. There are another 6 shelves after this plus a lot lot more models 🙂
I’m thinking a weekend in January as it takes around two days to get them all together safely! The collection ranges from 1/72 right up to a 5ft Hurricane (ex-flying model). I’ll get some older pics of the collection posted tonight when I get home from work.
Thanks Dennis, now I’m going to ask the (probably) impossible. Do any photo’s of ground crew either in or outside the pub exist?
Did the ground crews/aircrews use the Prince of Wales pub at all?
You guess correct. Some aircraft do give the impression of being lower than others as they go over especially the 747’s. 😀
The Fed Ex and Atlas are both evening shots, the King Air was mid afternoon.
A couple more from yesterday evening (around 6pm).
We have artifacts commemorating 94 years of an active airfield which includes first, second world war and cold war activity of the RAF. As a side note, it may be worth noting that the first International Air Tattoo and the first aerial filming was held at North Weald, both which are mentioned and displayed in the museum.
We are also adjacent to an active former Battle of Britain airfield which houses many historic aircraft, including those from Kennet Aviation and Hangar 11 collection, to name but a couple.
The museum itself is the station office which includes the office used by Douglas Bader during his time as officer commanding, and by the RAF until the station closed, it was also used by the ATC until NWAMA took over when the ATC left.
The museum itself is a house of memories to the personnel from North Weald and the civilians in the surrounding district.
Can anyone pm me with a/c type and/or colour scheme, am very worried about some friends.
Many thanks.
T-Bolt.
