Is there not another Vampire (albeit in much further from airworthy condition) over in the shed Tom?
There used to be, but it was a pod only and was sold on apparently. The list Jon sent me of all the stuff stored over at CFS has it listed as G-DHYY. Anyone know where it is now?
Tom.
Anson G-AYWA is still at Coventry but is totally stripped. Restoration to flight is a very long term prospect.
Tom.
We currently have Vampire T.55 G-HELV and Venom F.50 G-DHVM (ex G-GONE) airworthy at Coventry. We also have Venoms J-1629 and J-1649 stored. There are no immediate plans to put them back together but its not out of the question should the need arise.
Tom.
Wonder if / where any might still be earning their keep…
G-ARHW, G-HBBC, GOPLC and our own G-DHDV/VP981 are frequently seen passing through Coventry.

Tom.
As with many others, Airfix! Specifically a 1:72nd Gnat which I still have somewhere. Several Finningley airshows later and I was well and truly hooked.
Tom.
Hi Colin,
Yes, that would have been us!
Tom.
I Spotted Ray Hanna, Paul Bonhomme and Steven Grey around, didn’t catch any of the others though.
Alan De Cadenet was spotted doing some filming infront of the Spifires. The temptaion to run up behind him making merlin noises was almost too much
Great pics Jonathan!
I managed a few but was busy with the Rapide pleasure flying most of the time. Not an easy thing to try and do when you are not allowed to take off or land whilst they are racing!!

Wow! Outstanding job, but it really was about time!!
Tom.
Apparently the owner plans to do half the interior in classic passenger fit, and the other half in WWII para fit. Be interesting if he does the same with the paint scheme!
Tom.
Some cracking shots there!
Tom.
We had to can the Dak in the end today due to the weather down there. Even if we had scraped into Cambridge then bussed the pax they wouldn’t have seen much by all accounts.
As much disappointment for the organisers as the paying public I guess but there’s not alot you can do about all that horrible grey stuff hanging around.
Tom.
I have to agree with you Will. It was certainly the most effective mass Spitfire display I think I’ve ever seen. Spitfires everywhere! You could tell both aircraft and pilots were having way too much fun up there.
