Boeing DC-3
Thats just not right…………..
Tom.
I’ll be there! We are planning to have the Dove, Prentice, Pembroke, Twin Pin, Dak, Anson and Rapide in attendance so feel free to pop over, have a nose around and say hello!
Tom.
Stunning.
If only we could spend the same amount of cash on APSA or SIXC that Red Bull did on that!
Will it be at Leg……….
Tom.
So yes, if a DC-3 were to be repainted now, its label would read Boeing DC3
There are very few, if any, Daks that carried a Douglas DC3 label. Are you suggesting that if we were to repaint one of ours we now need to add ‘Boeing DC3’ to the side?
Just curious.
Tom.
That 757 almost makes our ATR look tasteful!
Tom ๐
Cracking pic Damien. Anyone know why it came out black and not the usual green/yellow?
Tom.
Some DC8 variants also had Conways.
Tom.
Hi Tom,so thats how you pass the time on the night shift then?!
Shhhhhhhh! No one is supposed to know that!
Tom ๐
Hey Keith,
Superb work! particularly like the Wyvern and Sea Hawk.
Tom.
What’s the Twin Pin kit? The only one I know of is (IIRC) an old Hallam Vac. Rather you than me!
Thatโs the one! Not the best vacform around but the only way to go unless you are willing to shell out ยฃ30 for the Magna resin kit.
Given that you say you started from the (old) Airfix Dak
It’s actually the Italeri kit in an Airfix box. Much better than the original Airfix “Dak” and no rivets to sand off!
If I have some jetcal sheet left over I will bring you some that you could print ATLANTIC onto.
Cheers Will, and thatโs one sleek looking design! Make sure you show us the finished article.
Tom.
Thanks Will, Dan.
The AA titles and osprey are from the Fineline decal sheet available here. Everything else is painted. I think the bird may be a little on the small side though. I’m also missing the ‘Atlantic’ titles which are placed under the osprey.
Tom.
I must have built hundreds of kits since about the age of 3 so the list would be huge, but the latest is the Airfix 1:72nd DC3 in AA colours. Has a few extra details such as brake lines, roof vents, aerials etc. Will get some pics of the finished model but these show it nearing completion.

Also got a Twin Pioneer and 2 x Rapides underway.
Tom.
Ah yes, our little known Derwent Convair ๐
Hope all that attended had a good day. Still have a ringing in my ears from the hour the Shack was running ๐ฎ
Tom.
when is the Classic Flight moving to Kemble? How are they going to get the grounded big stuff there?
Its not. There is a possibility that the Jets may move, but I don’t think anything has been decided yet.
