The DC6 have indeed been to Gothenburg occasionally but have not flown for some time now, mainly because the ATR side of things has been so busy we haven’t had enough pilots! They are still airworthy however and I think one should be at the Biggin show as usual.

The DC6 can also have spray equipment fitted but would only be used for a big spill or if the Electra was unavailable.

    Great pics Will!

    For a price πŸ˜‰

Generally its either DC3, Twin Pin, Rapide or Prentice. We were hoping to have the Dove available this year but it doesn’t look likely due engine troubles.

also saw at the museum a 1:72 scale of an AW Argosy RAF version. I have been after a 1:72 scale model of an Argosy for years but can’t find one anywhere.

    James,

You need to look for a vacform kit by Airways, kit number 04 I think. As far as I know thats the only 72nd Argosy ever produced.

Failing that, we usually have two open days a year, the first is April 23rd and the second is likely to be September. Its Β£50 and that gets you a flight in the aircraft of your choice, Dak in your case, plus a tour of the AA facilities.

I think we are now the only people in the UK offering DC3 flights.

I don’t know Will……I see we are going to have to educate you in the differences between Gloster’s finest πŸ˜‰

John, last I heard, WK163 should be flying again fairly soon, its just lack of man power which is a problem now.

I visited MAM last year and the chap working on 922 (I assume that’s Malcolm) couldn’t have been more accommodating, even invited us in and powered her up!

WL790 is currently stored in the open at Midland, Texas. There are no plans for the aircraft in the immediate future but it has been recently discussed and this year *may* see some action, but thats by no means definate!

1722 is not a happy aircraft at the moment. On its last flight No.4 spewed oil down the runway and is a write off, then on landing a radiator blew spewing glycol everywhere. If you want further info or you have a spare Griffon, e-mail henkhugo@shackletonproject.co.za

We now have just three Meteor airworthy in UK, the NF14 at Kemble

I think you mean NF11 G-LOSM which is now based at Coventry with the Air Atlantique Classic Flight and as far as I know we have not been approached.
