Hi Bruce, Will,
I was looking for Swiss but would still be very interested in the RAF example.
Thanks,
Tom.
Since TUI took over control of Coventry there is no chance of another Airshow here. However, thats not to say there will never be another Air Atlantique organized airshow somewhere, anything is possible where AA are concerned!
It should also be pointed out that all the procedes from these open days go right back into keeping the fleet up and running so more than a worthy cause 😉
Tom.
Were there two Dakota`s used for the poppy drop?
Yep, G-AMRA and G-ANAF. I was on AF and I just hope it looked as good from the the ground as it did from 1000ft! Not had chance to download the photos yet but will post a few here if they come out ok.
Has the system got more sophisticated since? And are they now more accurate? That first drop (Lichfield?) was a bit of a shambles
It was basically a large sack so I’m not sure sophisticated is the right word! They did have a lid to stop the petals being sucked out before we reached the DZ though!
Tom.
I think they are going direct from and to Coventry.
Tom.
It’ll be G-AMRA and G-ANAF from Air Atlantique. RA was being repainted over the weekend and should have been at Northolt yesterday for a photo shoot. Apparently it is with search lights and its actually rose petals we’ll be dropping.
Tom.
Hannants Model shop have a GR3 in their Lowestoft warehouse.
Tom.
The fin and fuselage are airbrushed. The Rudder and text are transfers.

A few more photos for you. By the time they had finished it, the weather was sh*te and the light was fading fast, so not the best conditions for air to air!
