Blo*dy hell. Stuff gets on t’internet fast these days!
Pleased to say we arrived back safe and sound at Coventry, still on 3 engines. No.4 shut down without warning just past Southend but hopefully it will be something easy to fix. There doesn’t appear to be any sign of catastrophic failure anyway.
I’m sure everyone will agree APSA looks absolutely stunning. The guys at KLM have done a superb job on her.
Thanks also to the guys and gals at Avidrome for their great hospitality also. A great weekend with great company.
Tom.
Well there have been plenty of rumours, but all will be revealed on Sunday when she returns to Coventry.
Tom.
Good to see the Mew Gull will be there! Hope the Weather holds….
Tom.
Hi Curlyboy
That’ll be APSA again. They were off to Cranfield for training.
The DC-3 was more than likley AMPY en-route to Southend for one of our regular flights on behalf of Leger Holidays.
Tom.
This was G-APSA’s first flight following a numeric check to bring her back upto airworthy status. She’s just taxied out again for crew training.
We are actively seeking sponsorship for APSA to keep her in the air although she is available for airshow work also and is booked to appear at Blenheim on the 22nd July, Portrush between September 7th & 9th and Hamburg between 14th & 16th Sept.

She should also be flying later in the week if all goes according to plan.
Tom.
Definitely only one! It’ll be there both days though so perhaps that’s the cause of the confusion!
Tom.
Bookings so far are:
Blenhim Palace 22nd July
Portrush 7th-9th Sept
Hamburg 14th-16th Sept
Tom.
‘FD’ was the second Q6 off the procution line, the first was G-AEYE.
Tom.
So will the parts all reach the Coventry area or are your lips sealed?
I wish!
We didn’t get the name of the people doing the restoration but the owner did say it was going to Liverpool.
Tom.
Right now, I ‘as been mostly working on…..

Tom
I wouldn’t get your hopes up, but stranger things have happened!
Tom.
That was the plan PP, but during the check 4 we found severe corrosion on the starboard wing main spar, the repair to which has now been deemed a mod by the CAA and we still haven’t had the new repair scheme back yet. grr:mad:
Tom.
In the case of the Shackleton, if we replace the main spar we could fly it in the UK. It’s just the £3 million + it would take to do this, which we don’t have, that is stopping it happening.
Tom.
Excellent! We know she left Anoka, and we now have proof she headed East, but where is she now, and in what state?!
Thanks for the information and pic Mobius.
Tom.
ooo, you tease :p
