I believe it’s due to go into one of the hangars at Finningley as a training aid.
Tom.
It was some time ago now, but well before my time at the company so I couldn’t say exactly when.
Tom.
Was….
Tom.
It was for a corporate launch party. I don’t know much more than that I’m afraid.
Tom.
Sorry, display cancelled. Poor weather and a few ground issues at Duxford to blame.

XL929 Stored at Coventry in 2006, since moved off site.

BXES is awaiting some engineering work however the public transport fleet has priority at the moment. She should be flying again in a month or so.
Heres a few pics of her from 2006

The 50th Anniversary celebrations will take place at Duxford on Saturday 5th May.
We will be bringing VP981 along for the day and you have the chance to fly on one of the BBMF’s ex aircraft by joining us on the flight from Coventry. For details see here http://www.atlanticdhg.com/AACF/NEW8/news.asp

Tom.
It was Mike Alan, Sybille was in G-BODY.
Cracking shots Damien!
Tom.
Well ******!
Meteor and Vampire made it, Venom wouldn’t start and Canberra’s rudder trim failed. Such is the way with old aircraft I guess.
Tom.
Meteor, Vampire, Venom and if we can rectify a tech snag in time, Canberra will be departing Coventry at 1200 for a flypast over Cosford.
Keep your ears open!
Tom.
We are hoping to ferry SDEV up to Coventry in the near future. Once all the major winter maintenance is out of the way, the engineers will have time to get her back into airworthy condition.
Tom.
wasnt WT711 sold??
Yes, to Retro Aviation, the same people that bought G-CONV.
As for VN799/G-CDSX, it could be some time before she flys again. Practically everything that could expire, expired on the day the RAF delivered it to us so it needs a great deal of work to make her airworthy and we have other priorities at the moment.
G-ARHW – We now own this Dove and it will be returned to flight shortly.

Although we would love to put seats back in the DC-6, it would cost a fortune, and we currently don’t have those kind of funds!
What we are trying to do is find a large corporate sponsor for the DC-6, to use it as the “Ultimate Billboard” flying around the UK and Europe. Anyone interested? 😉
A big thanks to the Wolverhampton Aviation Group who brought along FGA9 XE597 and manned it all weekend at quite short notice! Cheers guys.

Who actually owns WL963 and WL790 mentioned in Sqn Ldr F J Cubberley’s letter in the Daily Mail?
The Shackleton Preservation Trust, Air Atlantique Classic Flight or another organisation?
This ownership status could affect the likelihood of the project even qualifying for HLF funding.
As I understand it, both Shackletons are owned by Air Atlantique, with WR963 effectively being on loan to the Shackleton Preservation Trust.
