Hi Peter,
I ran out of disc space by the time they got around to actually starting the engines, but I will get more footage next time she runs.
Tom.
A short video clip of a cartridge firing and a few more photos are now up in the news section on http://www.classicflight.com
Excuse the camera shake when the thing goes off, but it gets me every time!
Tom.
Fantastic, will it fly duo with the T.4?
The T.4 requires some work before she can be flown, but we would also love to see them together! It all depends on us getting bookings for them, so if you want to see it, start lobbying the show organisers now!! 😉
Tom.
Fantastic new! Well done to all at HHA.
Tom.
Engine runs before Christmas, flying next year.
Tom.
Its a big service. Wings off etc. I don’t know why we are doing it and they aren’t though. Money and manpower issues perhaps?
Tom.
if Spits are on CAA Permits, I think this may have been why?
Correct. There was talk of the organisers asking the BBMF to do it but I guess they were either too busy or the single engine issue raised it head again. Either way, I’m sure 3 Daks was just as impressive 😉
Tom.
I note using twins overcomes the CAA advice regarding single engine over built-up areas, i.e. the planned Spitfire fly-over.
Not all twins. Our orginal intention was to use the Anson and 2 Daks, but the Anson was not allowed as she’s on a permit to fly.
Tom.
Great photos there! Thanks for posting them.
Tom.
From G-AMRA Daz, we had a 3 ship Dak flypast and poppy drop over Bedworth at 1104 today. Our way of saying thanks.
Tom.

Tom.
Ref SDEV, no, not yet. She’s still at Kemble. I suspect we’ll move her over the winter some time.
More T4:

Tom
ooo, I recognise that chap on the left 😉
It was a pleasure to meet you today Les, and you’ve got some excellent photos there!
All that remains now is to find her an appropriate civil registration!
Tom.
I know that there were camera apertures in the bellies 😉
Ours still has them, along with a few strange ‘protrusions’!
