Exactly, Arthur. That’s the whole issue. Now, people from a lower social class (I hope I can use this word without anyone accusing me of Marxism :)) get many benefits from the gov’t. People from the middle class, the one on which every western civilisation is build, don’t get the same benefits, in fact, these people are discouraged to get children because their jobs can be endangered. But its’ exactly these people who should get children, because they have the necessairy funds AND education to give a future to their offspring, while the “lowlifes” just get enough children because that’s the only way to survive, and it’s easier to have a child than to look for a job. So the state should give money to these folks instead of the lower social classes.

So now the state is going to decide how people should run their lives.

Jonathan, I don’t see what “giving money” has to do with “gov’t controlling your life”. Isn’t that the reason why people chose to live in nation-states instead of tribes? There should be an interaction between the state and it’s population (the “civil society” to quote Spencer).

And Arthur, very noble of you that you would go for an adoption. But most people want to see a part of themselves in their offspring. Education can do a lot, but most folks are just no ready for adoption.

Well, women who don’t want children are not forced to have them. They just pay more taxes, which I think is normal. Eventually, if you have children, you are “helping” society. That should be rewarded, by paying less taxes, or getting money from the gov’t. And actually I never met women who don’t “like” children, some of them want to wait untill they got a steady job. But it’s simple darwinism, people who don’t like or want children are selfish according to me. Actually if you would ask any scientist what “the meaning of life” (not the Monthy Python movie :)) is, most will answer to produce children. And don’t say this is nazism because I’m not talking about races here. In fact, maybe it would be good if people who are not able to have children, adopt a boy or a girl from a third world country. I just want to avoid that the next generation of Europeans will have to work untill they are 75. Or even worse, that there won’t be a next generation. Gov’ts should encourage people to have children, and reward the parents. By 2050 the population of the US will be around 450 million, the EU maybe 380 million at that time. How can you still compete in a modern liberal world if you don’t have the workers, employees? If there’s one thing which can destroy liberal capitalism, it will be the lack of young, dynamic people. America already understands this, Europe doesn’t, and Japan is slowly killing itself because people don’t want to have children anymore, and instead spend the money on luxury goods. Probably the last generation of Japanese who can still do this. If it goes on like this, by 2050, Japan will be totally dependent on China or the US.

Haha, it took me a while before I realised it. I even started up thy computer a few times cos I thought I had a problem with the internet-connecton 😉

Maybe we should introduce the same kind of law the Romans did: more taxes for anyone who refuses to get children (unless you have a medical reason ofcourse). Europe is getting underpopulated.

Especially now that the truth is being told to the public. Lies, all lies. There are no bloody WMD’s in Iraq. I hope this means the end of Blair’s political carreer. And indeed your president doesn’t take crap from nobody, that’s about all you can say about him. He’ll probably never win a Pullitzer-price (as if he could pronounce the word :D)
