“If any of Churchills actions are to be brought into question, it should be the betrayal of our Polish allies to the Russians, which subjected them to a further 50 years of occupation and terror”.

I believe it was the labour govt (if anyone) that betrayed the Poles, “Keep the red flag flying” and all that.

I seem to remember that it was Poland we went to war over, Ironic that at the end of a long and bloody war with the “enemy” vanquished, a former ally should seize hold of the very country we strove to protect, war weary and virtually bankrupt as we were, I doubt we could have done it all over again.

“Harris was a Patriot, Churchill was a polititian,a man who changed his spots to suit the time!!! Liberal/Conservative and God knows what”.

“A man of his time yes, still in the big picture a Here today gone tommorow polititian”

Does being a poilitcian make a man (woman) any less of a patriot?

At the time that Churchill “crossed the floor” there was more in common between Liberals an Conservatives than either with labour…. a bit like now really.

A “here today gone tommorow politician”? where have you been?

Personally I would prefer a two day event, the effort involved is (for me) too much for just one day; I note that they aren’t open on Sundays, I’m sure they have their reasons, but that’s slightly odd in this day and age.

You can buy them on ebay, Griffons as well!; the Merlin must be one of the most continuously “in service” engines of all time, they were still manufactured into the ’50’s. something like 160000 were made, (not counting Meteors, some parts of which can be used).

Didn’t Mr Adlam have a nice shiny DFC (bought on the internet) that was a bit too shiny; where is he anyway not seen him here for a while?

“There are few witnesses, and they are very old now. In all of those seventy years, this accusation could have been put-up, and peer-reviewed. It was not”

I’d say Tom Neil was credible.

I’ll need to set a reminder for this later.

What the resurrection of the Bader v Williams thread?
