Oh please god, don’t tell me they’re still seriously considering that awful tower! 😮

I’d much rather they concentrate on getting sky lights into the BOB hall roof!

I don’t think letting more light in is actually their intention, I was there Sunday at the BoB weekend, and it was darker than ever in the hall, despite the all glass front of the building; there may not actually be a ban on photographing the A/C, but you have to be pretty good at it in that dimly lit enviroment!

No doubt someone will be along to say “it will be done when it’s done” (or something similar); that seems to be the std answer to this particular question!

Yes well done, shame that the money has to be raised privately, as it is an “official” mistake.

Hold up, John C……only send your cheque after Knifedgeturn and TonyT have sent you their long list of warnings of doom, gloom and likely dire consequences…!! 😀

Just so long as you (the numpty up front) understand that you will (a) wreck the engine (b) have an accident of some kind (c) tip it on its nose when you have ‘control’ (d) break off a rudder pedal (clumsy oaf..!!) not to mention inhaling hazardous engine fumes, suffer hearing impairment, wet your pants and likely ingest radium from the instruments….

(a)-(c) are possible but not probable (d) is fact, the rest are at best humerous, or at least would be, if they weren’t used to illustrate Tangmere’s “we are all professionals, and you are just armchair enthusiasts”
    view…….

I have no axe to grind, let them do what they like with their aeroplane, good luck to them and anyone else trying to earn a living in these times.

Exactly; thats why I said that I didn’t expect the front seat occupant to be in control.

A friend of mine had a rudder pedal broken off by a clumsy oaf, and now doesn’t let any one sit in his.

I don’t think Dunbar mentioned the word “control”.

Nit picking, tsk tsk! “under supervision from the rear seat” implies that you are not just a passenger, and that being the case, an element of control input from the front seat “occupant” is required; my response was to those who predicted an accident of some kind, and not the wording in Dunbar’s post.

Somehow I don’t actually think that you’ll be in “control” of the A/C, whilst taxiing…….

Since when did Lockheed aircraft have fenders? (referred to in the picture caption)

I thought a fender was American parlance for a (car) bumper, or am I missing something?

    Perhaps they mean a guitar?:diablo:

A puzzled and entirely unconvinced, Anon.

I don’t believe that Leo Fender was producing guitars in the ’30’s, but the Gibson bros were, and one of those was called Orville; coincidence? I think not!

Sounds like most of it is light hearted banter to me.

You didn’t say what type of tubing it is, if it is from an A/C it is probably high tensile and quite thin, that being the case you will need to “cherry ” the metal to bend without cracking; the introduction of sand may help but will dissipate the heat, and you will need a big flame!

NBC in the US reported “Neil Young, first man on the moon has died”….

Neil Young was on the moon………….Harvest Moon (the album) easy mistake what with the words Neil and moon all in the same sentence!

As I recall the majority of the access road is a service way to the rear of the retained land (farm).

In my conversations with W&N,( at the outset of the original sale) it was suggested that the tenants son (who was conducting vehicle repairs in the lean to type building adjacent to the bungalow) was seeking to have the lifetime tenancy extended to include himself; certainly at that time there was no suggestion that they would be willing to be re housed.

The project will probably not go ahead, because, (in a nut shell) the hike in the asking price, has put the site out of reach for most people that were likely to restore the buildings, (without alteration) as they mainly appear to be accomodation size “huts” and unsuitable for most commercial operations (together with the weight restriction on the road)

A good point; perhaps thats why people join gangs!

The bloke in the shed will at least own his A/C, whereas the team will squable over ownership, and ultimately one of them will run off (and hide) with the aeroplane……
