Santa and airplanes.. it reminds me of these pics:

What about this beast. Yeah, I know its from a TV serie.:p
In another forum it was also discussed.

🙂
interesting pic! With a Jordanian F-16
yes I know, we can add a whole lot more helos then.
but I guess thats not what this topic is about. 🙂
To bad the V-22 is considered a fixed wing.
These are the only helicopters I know of who can be refuelled during flight using the Hose and Drogue system. Did I missed one?

CH-53E

EC-725

H-92 SAR

HH-3E

HH-53

HH-60G

Merlin HC.3

MH-53E

MH-47E
And here the tanker version of the Mi-26, only used to service ground vehiceles.
MI-26TZ
As per reports the Ka-31 AEW helo is also capable of mid-air refuelling. And there is a tanker version of the Mi-26 Halo helicopter; the only rotary-wing tanker I’ve heard of so far..
Yeah. I’d love pics if you have any.:)
AFAIK HAL in India was tasked to develop air to air refuelling for the Ka-31 but I’ve never seen some prove that they were succesfull in that.

This is the only helicopter, as long as we say that the V-22 is a helo, which is fast enough to be refuelled by a jet tanker. But I guess this picture is only to prove it can be done as normaly a KC-130 will be used.
Any body interested in pics of air refuelable helos? Including this V-22 I found 10 models:
CH-53E
EC725 CSAR
H-92 SAR Prototype
HH-3E (no longer operational)
HH-53
HH-60G
Merlin HC-3
MH-47E
MH-53E
V-22
Is the C-160 also used as a tanker for helicopters? I could only find pictures refueling other C-160s or jets.

something like this you mean?
Indeed on the viability. More AEW than COD I’d imagine and certainly more justification to put them in the carrier airwing than maintaining a single-role COD type like Greyhound!.
Wikipedia says COD and Tanker and don’t mention AEW. Makes more sence to me as the conversion to an AEW version may cost to much and may take to many years to complete (to develop, build, test, etc).
Or will they just put an Erieye on top of it and fly away. 🙂
Why an AT6 though why not a Cessna or Beech Baron?
or the Air Tractor AT-802U?
It’s not a T-41, but a Kestrel KL-1C, an alleged Cessna 172 “replacement” which surfaces some 15-20 years ago and then disappeared (presumably after Cessna started single-engine production again).
oh.. that’s a new one for me. Thanks for that. So it’s off topic here. 😉
What about the Kaman Huskie?
One engine and contra rotating props.

If this one counts then I add the K-max to 🙂
Hi, the Argentine Air Force received two specially built Chincul Pawnee two seaters for the Instituto Nacional de Aviacion Civil and they are still in service for use on crop dusting training.
Best regards
Santiago
Thank you Santiago:)
A few photos from Colombia:
Found some aditional info about these planes:
These aircraft are modified with self-sealing fuel tanks, armoured engine compartments and cockpits, with bulletproof windscreens, engine fire-extinguishing systems, oxygen system, GPS and HF radios.
