The position of the roundel is interesting! If someone had asked me how to position a pre ww2 US roundel on an airship I would have had it with a point of the star facing up but not facing forward.

I found out that the star in the roundel was used from 1994 to ca. 2000. Can this Y-12 be from the same period?
The Firebee were operationals above Vietnam as reco, ecm and chaff dispensers (corridors). I can’t remember if any Mavericks were fired in angers.
One 147 shot down a Mig by avoiding a collision while this fighter was taking off ( Mig confirmed crashed). The short span model were used to fly really low (tv guidance),often passing below electrical wire lines.
The D21 were later carried by B52s.
