Brazilian roundel during WW2
These Brazilian roundels were only used in Italy 1944/45 and (so far I could find out) only on the P-47s. The Brazilians got US P-47s and painted the Brazil roundel over the US star leaving the bars.

Quite possibly taken on USS Philippine Sea (CV47) while it was Detailed to Operation Highjump 1946-1947. Six R4D-5Ls using JATO bottles took off from the portion of the flight deck forward of the island (~240 feet). This was in support of Admiral Byrd’s expedition.
that’s the one! Here some more pics

Rather like the RAF Spitfires being transported to Malta and flown off RN and USN carriers, P-40s were transported to North Africa for the invasion and flown off carriers.
You’ve got to give it to the OP, he has the ability to find old odd stuff and makes it seem new.
Through his postings on various forums he must find enough newcomers that have never seen the stuff to make it worth his while.
And I notice he’s back to asking questions, the answers to which he never acknowledges.IIRC, he’s already offered the P-51s on carriers, possibly the C-130 as well. The U-2 will probably be next or the Neptunes. 🙂
or this one:

The closest Mig-23UB has the roundel used from 1921 to 1993, the one in the back has the present day roundel.
