I stand corrected – thanks. It looks likely that the castings are from HS Andover, but unable to prove that 100%.
There were the badly deteriorated remains of rive Vampires plus a pile of spares. Unfortunately already gone and the owner does not wish to be identified. Have you tried Judy Pay for parts?
RR Meteor engines were never used in NZ.
Thanks for all your comments. The parts are all aluminium castings and I suspect that the numbers are the “casting” rather than finished parts. I have inspected a sample of the parts under 10X magnification and came across some inspector stamps – circle with JM 402. One of the parts also has a BM part number , but again – not in any lists I have.
The parts are in New Zealand, so I suspect a type such as Bristol Freighter, Argosy, Hastings, Andover , Vampire.
It would be good to find a home for these parts as they are all in very good condition.
According to the drawing, this is a clip that joins a stringer to back of Frame 5 ( large frame that pilots seat is mounted on). Used on P40 D, E , F, K ,M and possibly others as well.
How do you send a PM in this new layout?
Hi Mike. Have been trying to contact you by PM about repo instruments but am having trouble with the new format – ie cant work out how to send a PM! Can you try and send one to me – otherwise I will post an EMail address. Thanks Mike
Hi Mike ( Versuch). Trying to contact you about repo instruments but cant work out how to PM you on the new site. If all else fails, I will post an EMail address.
Latest addition to my collection is something a bit older: original Japanese Zero panel, complete with bullet damage. Still trying to determine exactly what model it is from. I am looking for Japanese instruments for it – would appreciate any leads. P40 data plates change hands for around USD 2500, depending on condition and history.
The early H75 aircraft were 12 Volt, but somewhere they changed to 24 Volt. The H75 A-8 manual lists a 24 Volt system. I have checked the Curtiss Interchange list and cant find the drawing number, but some of the Curtiss lists are far from complete for every model. A phot of the face would be interesting.
A very long shot, but I am looking for Japanese WW2 instruments – in particular any engine related instruments. I have WW2 Japanese, WW1 and WW2 English , WW2 American instruments available as trade items. Thanks
Mike – thanks very much , just what I needed to know. Now all I need to do is find them. Would anyone know of a source?
Regards Mike N.
More great info – thanks again.
Anneorac- excellent! Thanks very much. I take it that this document is some sort of stores provisioning list? By any chance does it also have the 5C or 5CW section for the Hind – that would identify the switches which are the last items I need.
