45 Years Ago Today!
G-ARPO made her first flight 45 years ago today, on 13 January 1965 at Hatfield. Fantastic achievement that she’s still around and in one piece. Let’s restore her so she’s around for many more years to come!

If anyone is feeling generous and fancies buy G-ARPO a Christmas present, please have a look at her wish list on the website http://www.savethetrident.org/
We’ve got a lot of work to do putting her back together in 2012. Every little helps!
Cheers, have a great Christmas!

The nose and main gear struts are all nicely tucked away inside the aircraft, ready for it to be loaded onto the trailer to take it up to Sunderland.
Just waiting on a date now, but please keep the donations coming if you can!
We’re in search of a qualified disc cutting person to help as a volunteer at the moment. Does anyone fit the bill, or can you recommend anyone?
They’ll need certificates to prove they’re capable and safe, and we’ll need them on site at Teesside for a day here and there over the next 3 months, helping cut G-ARPO into transportable pieces.
Cheers

Going well, but the weather has slowed things a bit. Had a good day today. See http://www.savethetrident.org/ for pictures and updates.

Updates from cutting week can be seen at http://www.savethetrident.org/
Hope you don’t mind, I posted info on http://www.outofproductionlist.com/ using one of Plazz’s pictures and crediting.
What’s happened to the HP Herald at Redhill – has it moved to this new location too?
For those on Facebook, there is now a Save The Trident group for you to join and keep an eye on. Would love people to contribute stories, photos, and spread amongst their friends.

Maven’t heard much more about this. Does anyone know which aircraft it was, and is it a write-off?

Wondering if Flybe would consider MME-LGW. Considering the proximity of NCL-LGW, it may not work. But then again KL operate NCL/MME/LBA/HUY to AMS and fill many planes a day.
I guess there’s also a possibility of Ryanair from MME-STN or LTN
This is another crazy takeoff video. Nearly doesn’t make it!
Thanks Newforest!
