I had wondered where he was, as his facebook was off lately. Will call him tomorrow.
Keith.
The 380 is hugely popular with pax, if you have tried it you will understand. The 350 will be a great aircraft, it just won’t fit in with the current plans as they stand.
The 340s will be going within the next 3-4 years, the -500’s are fuel guzzlers, with oil at its present price. A great aircraft, but too much of a niche aircraft.
The 340-300s are good on the routes they are used on, and like the 330’s are gradually leaving the fleet.
The 777’s are still being delivered, and new ones are starting to replace the older -200 and -300s.
Emirates posted yet again record profits/revenue for the 2013/14 FY. Plenty of $$$ in the bank.

No such thing fitted on any 777. I fly all varieties. Check Airliners.net and check for yourself.
Right now everything is speculation. Such as this below..
Its either, sudden catastrophic structural failure, loss of control, or a bomb/hijack take over. Anything else as a flight deck crew member you would make a radio call, if only a mayday.
Just be patient everyone.

Saw it last week in Accra, looking very green. Was the ex Ghana Airways aircraft, that used to frequent LHR. Saw it on the ramp 8 years ago, minus 1 engine and dusty. Were some assorted DC8s, F27(Military ramp) last week in Accra.

Trust me! LBA is short for a 777. Newcastle is getting there, as one of the shortest, for the -300ER.
On a wet and windy day, no thanks LBA.

Dubai is just part of the UAE, Dubai does’t have much oil (10%) of Dubai’s GDP. Abu Dhabi has stacks. That us why Dubai has invested so heavily, in Airlines, infrastructure, tourism etc…
Emirates success is ongoing, so they must be doing something right!!! Made a profit every year, except the first. Not many airlines can say that! Emirates does’t get cheap oil at base, it buys from many oil/petroleum companies at Dubai. All the fuel gets shipped to Singapore for refining, no facilities for that here. I tanker in fuel from some of our destinations.
The interiors I like, but it may not be to everyones tastes. Many seem to like it! 😀

Sounds more like a compressor stall, which when it occurs usually causes flames and a big bang. This is usually caused by bleed valves not opening correctly, meaning too much air goes through the engine, and the engine basically backfires.
Depending on what the ECAM told the crew, they would take appropriate action.
The engine exploding was probably the impression from the cabin, not the actaul reality.Unfortunately, the press like a juicy hezdline, don’t they!!

Looking forward to a trip to the Big Market!!

Thanks Dave, brings back memories, great pictures, any more?
The Mildenhall show for me was a bitter sweet event(and hence I was not in the photo) as I was told the previous night my father had died in a car crash, whilst in the digs for the night.
Trying to remember some of the names in the photo.
Martin, Mick, Roy, Russell, Mr Rushen x 2, Mr Legg, Dizzy and John.Happy days, spent freezing our butts off at Barkston Heath, the experience moderated by the buxom Gwen at the pub 😀 The Chilli Con Carne was always excellent.

Happened at Emirates and most recently a Air New Zealand out of Japan. This last one was a very close call.
