Asked around today and someone from a major aviation engineering company said that Thomsons are pulling the plug on LBA based engineers this summer. They said that they have got the contract for the time being only.
One of last weeks GVA flights was operated by one of the 757 aircraft. The flight returned with 224 passengers so the demand is there.
I’m not incredibly concerned about the 767 going even though it was nice to see, i’m quite happy we have Dalaman back to be honest, even if it is at the expense of the bigger a/c. Would much sooner see DLM than another PMI.
It will probably be all changed before the summer anyway, I don’t think Thomson are too sure about what they are doing at LBA!
Have they ever! :diablo:
Just out of interest exactly how many extra scheduled and charter flights are there in total for 2006 at the present count?
Nice shots there :), may I ask what is Jet 2’s official tail design? is it the red one with ‘Jet2.com’ written on it?
I personally assume it is because they applied it to the 757s.
The boss man didn’t like the gray tail and he decided the current design looked more prominent. Personally I agree.
Great shots there fella. I really do wish they’d chop those god damn bushes down!
Its funny the way this thread has changed!!
……..What about this then, Jet2 are to pull the plug on two or three destinations from Manchester and use an aircraft from Humberside to Malaga, Palma and Amsterdam???????????
Nothing for certain but this is definatly on the cards!

Thomsonfly 767
Cheers for the welcome LBARULES
Spoken to an engineer from the airline today, he says the based 767 aircraft will do the same as last year and it will leave LBA on the 14th July The flights will then be operated by the 757.
The LBA spy
With inside infermation, I can confirm that new destinations are on the cards for Jet 2 from Leeds Bradford.
