Appears to be JR and AW.
It was Rod Dean and a Dutch pilot.:)
Actually the predominant colour is based on an Orange Kimono worn by Jimi Hendrix on the Axis album and matched from a colour swatch given to me by Mark 12, as he’d kept it from his days as a roadie with “The Experience”. The wood staining was achieved by a match to a Gibson Les Paul guitar that was used by cas at Knebworth festival in 1979 when he had to don a wig and secretly deputise for Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page who was smitten by a case of “the trots” after eating a not so healthy cucumber sandwich in the hospitality tent. Creasote was of course sourced from the well known supplier “Mr Creasote” for just one waffer mint…………
Sorry I was side tracked about my beach-hut there, of course you all want to know the scheme of the Hurricane don’t you. 😀
More interested to know if you matched the varnish chips off the guitar. Hate to think that you would get pulled up for finishing it in the wrong shade.:D
Naturally your referring to my Beach-Hut and its authentic colour scheme. The Hurricane is from the paint mixing counter at B+Q or am I getting confused…….:D
Dont tell everyone that I have seen your beach hut!!
Looks really nice! 😀
The new look T9 was put into the public eye for the first time today. I thought it worthy of an extended lunch break!!

There was a large news story on this in last months Pilot magazine (in the Old Timers section) which gave a bit more detail than in the other mag. I know Pilot is not really aimed at the vintage aviation enthusiast, but they do get the odd exclusive from time to time.:)
This may shed some light on the subject…

Sad to say that the last one is NOT an April fool, MOD seem to think that the red/white/blue roundel is a copy righted item and can not be used without permission (and a liecence fee) hence there recent range of clothing feature the roundel.
I think you may find that the MOD were apparently forced into this action following a well known clothing manufacturers attempt to register the roundel for themselves.
great pictures Adrian cant wait to see them in there new pink and white colours:cool: I always wanted too know this why are they a british display team with american reg Stermans?
Regards
James
I believe it is to do with the CAA regs and the rigs on the wings.
Now who’s the April fool?
And the blimmin lens is a Sigma, not Canon!
Liking those lots! Nice shutter speed work.
Excellent work BBMF, looking forward to seeing you all at Duxford.
I guess you could also include Stoke-on-Trent, Ludham, Bartow, Auckland & North Weald.
And indeed Booker.
Westland Whirlwind…that would be a cool sight.
TFC’s Corsair is an awsome beast isn’t she?.
Tom’s Spit V looks spot on.Nice to see a Vc complete with Volkes filter and full cannon “C” wing.
Miggers:D
I have to agree on both counts. The Corsair display practice by SG was very impressive, and a thrill to watch. The MkV spit is most unusual and a welcome addition to the UK scene for this year. If only the sun was on the right side of the runway for photography!
