Plus the ones I have forgot and a/c returning from Goodwood on Sunday – looks like its going to be a great show if they all turn up.
BTW – this is a list of aircraft that I am assuming will be available to attend (subject to the usual), not necassarily what has been booked.
Have the four two seaters ever appeared together at a UK show?
Love those Reds shots Gary. There not that late…I havn’t even posted my Legends and RIAT shots yet!
I’m contemplating hijacking my brother’s car on August 19th and shooting off to Old Warden for Shuttleworth’s Evening Air Display.
I’ve seen pictures of previous events held there and they look quite a relaxed affair, especially the evening displays.
Does anyone know what the line up for the August 19 display will be? I can’t find any information as to what’s displaying at all.
Any tips on how to tackle the event? What time to get there? Is it a flask and sandwich event? Do I need a large step ladder like so many people at the bigger airshows bring along (Okay, so I’m joking about the step ladder)?
Cheers,
Paul
Don’t forget to get a flight line walk so that you can get a bit closer to the aircraft. You may even get me to be your guide!
ARc were working very hard on the HAC Hurricane on Friday, so I am sure the HAC Mk V gets some ARc credit somewhere. π
Which part of “between the flightline and grass runway” did you not understand?
According to the PM he just sent me, its something to do with “Irony”. Clearly Moggy C feels he could not say that in the public domain
ββIf you care to think that through calmly you will realise that you have just posted something irredeemably silly.”
Followed by this…..
“not being there I hadn’t realised that Classic Wings had taken to taxiing amongst the static parked aircraftβ
Moggy
Your words Mr Cβ¦.
I would respectfully request an apology from you.
The wearing of yellow vests by stewards at flightline walk time is merely as a badge of authority, and by photographers as a badge of permission, not for any safety reason.
It can’t be beyond the wit of the organisers to devise a less disruptive system.
But then, unless people contact them and put forward their objections, nothing will be done.
Moggy
Is that a bit like the word moderator under your name..a mere badge of authority?? It’s about being seen, by aircraft..which is SAFETY!
York is outside, but Lanc is in the hanger.
The Bouchon arrived at Duxford today, and flew in the morning (Damien has images) and again in the afternoon, looks very nice. These and the Hellcat are from the south side (back road) of the airfield in the afternoon.

The Hellcat

OK DDM.
Pretty looking thing.
The aircraft looks nice too!
.
Oh yeah, hadn’t spotted the Fury replica in that pic! π
Wait ’til your head’s getting wet – that’s a forecast you can trust.
Not quite Rob. Its when your mate who is upwind of you tells you his head is getting wet…thats a forecast you can trust.
The situation that you describe is being caught out! π
I think Duxford marketing were a bit misleading with the information that they gave Darrenharbar.
S.B.
Not really.
They go by the information they are given from the movements team. The line up will be in place (now), but only for today, as the Anson will be back inside.
Lets not be greedy! I think the IWM deserve a lot of thanks for what they have done already. Today’s Avro line up WILL be turned around! An oppertunity not to be missed. π
I have had to come back to work following my quick visit to Duxford, but for anyone visiting later today (if you see this before you go), the Vulcan, Lanc and York should be turned around by 4pm (they are not yet). The Anson and CF-100 are already out on the pan.
