Gorgeous shots of the Lizzie, Darren. You let them get the Chippy wet?????

Thanks mate, yes the Chippy need another clean! We must arrange soon.

Last picture is the guys who put on a great performance considering the awful weather. Thankyou pilots!

Lovelly shots Niall, like many others, I didn’t spot the SE-5 landing but at least it was controlled, so well done to the pilot! I still havn’t proccesed my shots from this show, I just don’t seem to get any time!

Had a quick go, I think this is the best I could do.

Used the Dodge Tool on the effected areas, and gave the rest of the photo a quick go to help it blend in. Then saturated it to put back some of the colour that the dodge tool took out, and contrasted slightly to make it look a little more natural.

With a bit more time to spare you could probably use this method much more precisely.

Or clone the area like so (done very quickly due to time!)

I often wondered wha had happened to this airframe. Here’s a view that supports Ant’s single cockpit statement.

I’ll apologise in advance Darren, in case my comments seem a bit glib. It was good to meet you guys and ladies yesterday. But SVAS would certainly benefit from just putting up an offical looking sign.

Thats fair comment Bluerobin and I agree that we need a better way of pushing membership, but a lot of it is down to man power and pushing for change.

    Moggy,

The collection can not afford to get peaple in, so where possible it needs SVAS members to do rather than tell. I’m sure we could sort out a nice placker board for you to walk around with. 😀

Question for you lost regarding yesterday’s show. Did the SVAS have a stall? I was ready to fork out a joining fee, but was unsure where to go to. Perhaps a greater presence would be beneficial?

Frankie at Wellesbourne will have me garters now for not trying harder 😮

Sorry Bluerobin. I can assure you that “we” want your money! I will feed back your comments. 🙂

The SVAS work very hard at discouraging membership.

If you go to the tent by the tower which says something like ‘Camera Club’ somebody will eventually engage in an unequal struggle with an old-style credit card slip machine and part you from your money.

My suggestion, made to a senior luminary a while back, was that a team of attractive young people equipped with modern handheld card terminals, wandering the site at the shows and refunding half the entrance fee the punter had just paid in return for taking out a membership would double the income over a season.

    Moggy

This is unfair and disapointing critism Moggy. The “camera club” banner says SVAS Photographic Section, and is run by VOLUNTEERS who give up thier own personal time to raise additional money for the SVAS! There is normally a seperate tent for SVAS membership, but for the last few shows the Photographic section have taken on the task, which I believe is due to lack of personel. They do the best they can with the resource they have. It’s far from perfect, but IF you are a member of the SVAS yourself, have you offered to go around selling memberships to help out? Have you offered to find a way of funding an electronic terminal? This last show, we were over booked on photo tours, and we tried very hard to fit everyone in, but had to turn a few away, and as a result most of us were out doing tours on the flightline. If more peaple offered help, the situation of …your quote “someone will eventually engage”..would improve.
