Darren – don’t EVER hesitate to post photos of Chipmunks. That’s an order. 😉
You know my feelings on that!
CHIPMUNKS rule! 😀
Looks like Bob Warner’s aircraft G-BBHK. Last time I saw the aircraft it was based at Kemble, that was 18 months ago.
Thanks Yak 11,
I assumed it was UK based, but not a regular airshow visitor. Its very nice!
Can anyone tell me anything about the Harvard that was at RIAT. It is not one I had seen before.
I was not going to bother with any RIAT shots after the comments of late, but seeing as this is a pure historic thread, I thought I would contribute a few of my shots.
Great shots, and I have to favour the third “sillouette” shot, as it has such a great backdrop which makes the image really nice. Thanks for posting them.
As if there were not plenty of shots already, here is my contribution. The Typhoon went out of position directly above me, and the shots show the sequence of events that led up to the hard pull. Yes..these shots are the correct way up! 😮
Nick,
Just got home having left Fairford at 4pm (Sunday) I have not yet been through my pics, but I was at the landing end of the runway when the Typhoon did his near miss. Looking strait down the runway, it was very clear that he was a matter of meters from disaster. I will post some pics later in the week, but from an historic point of view, the show was well worth a visit.
Mmm, yeah. I haven’t commented on any Legends photos yet (bar the stunning BBMF poppy drop shot) because most are rather ‘samey’. Very good, but very similar.
But this one? Well, this one’s a bit special… 🙂
Thanks Steve,
Leaving the show early to reposition outside, opened the door to some really different shots so I think I will try this again.
Back from my little trip.. here is one more image that’s a bit different.
Part 2
I believe the Nimrod needed an airtest before it could display, hence why it flew at the end of the day. Other moree knowledgable forum members may be able to confirm this?
Is was fantastic….apart from a slight problem at the end (see my other thread) Too tired to post any pics!
Yes………we did notice the revised transport, that they used to “fly” into Duxford today.
Cool..Thanks!
I have found that sometimes, if you refresh the browser, when in a thread, the images do disapear (but only on my computer), and are replaced by crosses. I have not yet found a way of recovering them (even after restarting and resetting the modem), and I know they are still there to everone else, as I can se them on my work machine. If any one knows why…please tell.
If you double click the cross, you should still be able to view the images.
