I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was down to available engine/parts?

The site appears to be down at the moment, but I assume its the recently re-attached F2B engine (its in front of the P-47 at the moment).

WOW, Thanks for getting them posted, she looks great. Now, if only we could get her to stay for legends (I can dream).

    Darren,
That Coventry display orchestrated by John Watts was great except the organiser (not John ) disappeared in the early afternoon of the Sunday along with his bird and all the proceeds from the gates. Trapper 69

    Skybolt,

Thanks for the info, Thats the first I had heard of this. Its a shame, as the show had future potential.

    For the Lysander fans

The three airworthy aircraft are all taken at Duxford (not all the same year). The two rebuild shots, are the IWM airframe.

Some nice Baginton pictures there (judging by the familiar Dakotas and rugby posts in the Gannet and Mustang pics 🙂 ), any more like that to share, which year was it?

    Love the Gladiator 😀

Thanks all for the kind comments, I will post some more when I can.

    Will,

The majority of the Baginton shots were taken at a one off show organised by John Watts and friends. It was an excellent show, full of warbirds and action. I had a really great conversation, over the fence with John that day, talking about the Catalina. It was very sad to learn of his untimely death just a week afterwards, when his Tornado collided mid air with another.

I believe its a case of your photo your choice. I remove unwanted clutter from my pictures all the time.

I think the year those photo’s were taken was 1992,the same year Diamond Lil attended the show. This was one of the first airshows I ever attended and I think it was the only time SM969 appeared in public.I have a couple of albums’ worth of photo’s of the show, including some of ‘969 and the other WoGB Spits, but they’re in deep storage at the mo.I’ve been meaning to dig them out and share them for ages, hopefully I’ll get round to it before too long.

    Ant,

I think your right Ant. I too have pics of the other two WofGB spits that were in the line up. Its such a shame that they are currently stored, but I am sure this won’t be forever!

    Hi Daz,

Took me a while to get around to getting this for you. Pics are not great, but they may be of some interest to you. They were taken at Biggin Hill (cant remember what year).

I think you may be refering to the VE day flypast. This is on Sunday 10th June. Does anyone know if participants from Legends will be taking part (and also if the flpast may come over Duxford as its the same day!). 🙂
