And well done Andy and your good lady for supporting Steve during his visit. I know when we saw you on Friday, you had been looking after Steve and his wife well. I did not make the meet up on Saturday, as I had my dad in tow, but I hope Steve enjoyed the show.
Thanks new boy. Much appreciated. I will send some copies to Sqn Ldr Rosser who was flying the Tristar with 216’s CO.
Nice pictures newboy. Did you get any of the Tristar? as my best mate was flying it.
Cheers
Great show, shame about my bl**dy camera!
Images from Saturday
It was worth being in the enclosure then! Well done mate.
CWH Lanc or FIFI, now there’s a decision!
OK I’ll have both.
(Steve Patterson, Southern Cross would be nice!)
HP, a great addition to the airshow circuit, and where better to show her off than Old Warden. Here’s a couple of pictures for you.
“The photos of WD373, I can see it is at Duxford, but when and who is flying it? I recognise the pilot, but I cannot put a name to the face!
Was the pairs take off (that WD373) is part of from the ARCo/HFL open day display?”
Pictures were taken at Duxford during the ARC open day as you suspected. Don’t know who was flying them however. Anyone else know??
And now for some pictures
Well you can never say too little about the fantastic Chippy!
Flying the Chippy has been one of the highlights of my life to date. I had the pleasure of serving on 6AEF as a flight staff cadet in the 1980’s and then again when commisioned when they had relocated to RAF Benson.
One of the best trips I did was from RAF Abingdon to RAF Woodvale. We were returning an aircraft to 10AEF following the radio upgrades, and returned with another back to Abingdon. My backside hurt, after being sat in a chippy for so long, but it was well worth it!
I have posted air to air shots on the forum before, and I am trying to get some other images scanned. I have so many chipmunk pictures its obscene!
I still can not resist photographing them whenever I see one. and that feeling you get when you see one you flew in, is just sureal.
I will post pictures when I can (don’t have any at work)
Another angle for you. hope it helps
I try to avoid comment on threads like this, but HP is a man who has every right to comment, as he has what many of us don’t. I have always told my nearest and dearest that If I die flying, I would die happy. If I died in an historic aircraft, I would like to think it would be re built.
Well done HP for writting this thread. Were not worthy!
Does anyone have an idea which BBMf spitfire(s) may attend? I have yet to see the newly painted PR19 and re painted MIIa, so lets hope at least one of them is there.
Can’t wait for the show!!
We love the TFC…bring it on! 😀 😀
(do you think I am getting a bit too excited?)
i will be there Friday PM and Saturday.
Who’s up for a cone party on Friday afternoon??
