No I am going on a Leadership to Stafford
Good luck Olds Cool, its a very tough course. I do hope you get the time to look around, but I dont think you will have much “free” time.
The temptation of those wonderfull top sided passes and correct sun position at Old Warden means thats where I will be.
I Look forward to seeing the Duxford photos from you guys who go.
Try drinking less.
Ah, that might be it!
Thanks James 😀
Thanks for all the kind comments about the pictures.
I believe that she was on a test flight as Ray carried out a fair bit of handling work north of the airfield before he came back in to do a few passes. It was only a few public passes he did, so that may also indicate it was a test flight.
434 was in the hanger when I arrived with the cowlings off, so I was both suprised but very pleased when then rolled her out, and Ray walked out to get in.
Rob,
yes I am a FOD member, its well worth joining if anyone out there is not already a member. You even get 15% off in the shop and restaurants!
James (JDK),
Are you feeling OK, photographing a Spitfire? Its not like those Mustangs you know 😀
Septic,
Still have problems with the focusing, but I am starting to work my way around it.

The latter has just become my wallpaper, until something else comes along. Hope that’s okay?
That’s fine Geoff, I’m glad you like the shots.
Thanks Rob,
I was impressed by your Very low lighting shots from Old Warden. I didn’t post any of my shots as they were all pretty much the same as everyone else.
A brilliant summary of your trip Steve. Not to sure about the artwork on the Hurricane however! Hope you make it for Legends.
Especially for Darren though – and anyone else who likes a laugh, I’ve attached the worst and, believe it or not, best of my super-duper high speed aerial shots…and don’t snigger now (I mean – how do you reckon Steve really ended up sitting on that cone?!!) :p
There’s also a couple of my fave static shots – just to prove that I do, in fact, know how to use the camera!
Jenny
I think these pictures are Fantastic! 🙂 🙂 (Does that help avoid the cone treatment?) :p
I can hardley say anything as I took the shot below, before we had started drinking!
Nope.
I don’t remember what were talking about (it was a long week involving a remarkable number of aircraft, small drinks for the driver, and looking after a wandering Yank) but it certainly wasn’t that.
Sorry. Anyway, aren’t you ‘Man Over The Fence & Running’ yet?
Steve was looking for a bloke called Jon or was it a facility? 🙂
I beg to differ Darren me old son. This little beauty was the object of my desire at that exact moment, hence me not noticing the cone.
Well, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! 😀
Thats fair comment. It was a Chipmunk after all, which would explain a lot! (mutual appreciation required at this point!) 🙂

(those of you who saw my shots from the compact digital will remember that I’m a dab hand at capturing random sky myself!)
I do have one shot to share with you though, and if I can sort the technicalities of posting it, it should be attached..if not, it will magically appear later posted by someone far less Blonde than I!
I reckon anyone who knows my mate SteveYoung might appreciate it though…. answers on a postcard – what’s he doing? And what role does the cone play in all this???
The thing about Steve and that cone is that there was nothinhg the other side of the fence! I can only guess he was watching some kind of video playback on his camera! As to what the cone was being used for, I have NO idea! 😮
And by the way, can’t wait to see some of those great high speed aircraft action shots of yours, especially the Chipmunk tail fin! 😀
Bliming heck! where was that taken? The commentator had a pause for thought!
Yes well done to you guys for looking after Steve. You have all given up a lot of time from what I have seen and heard, and have arranged some unique things for Steve.
Shuttleworth have had the stenciling on the wing changed following rumours about Steve’s interest in the Hurricane.
Steve was asking JDK and I, who he should talk to about buying the Hurricane! We were showing him the EXIT!
