RE: Air force emergency vehicles.
Got to witness an exercise at Edwards AFB where one of their older Oshkosh T series hosed down their training article (simulated fuselage about the size of a G4 set afire with waste JP-8). The article was completely covered in foam in about 3 seconds! The firemen told me the truck carries 1500 gallons of water and 80 gallons of foaming agent.
RE: PIM FORTUYN has been SHOT
Another act by a “peaceful” greenie? Who was it who said “political power comes from the barrel of a gun”? It’s a wonder Le Pen didn’t get whacked by a greenie.
RE: Israel’s troubled UN relations
Was not the Jenin camp administered by the UN? If so, why did the UN allow numerous suicide bomb-making factories within the camp? Either the UN is incompetent by not knowing about the factories or complicit in the suicide bombings. Could the UN “investigation” be part of a cover-up of incompetence or complicity? Inquiring minds want to know.
RE: Germany
That evil gun turned another law-abiding citizen into a murdering monster…give me a break!
As long as the libs are willing to make schools and other public places gun-free killing zones, we will continue to see this type of event. The weapon could easily have been a sword, knife (remember the school killing in Japan last year?) or a tin of petrol (nightclub murders in New York and Brazil a few years back).
This type of murder-suicide was very rare 40 years ago (before the hippie’s free love/drugs revolution of the ’60s). Libs abhor teaching of values (right vs wrong) and ridicule anyone who uses judgement in their daily lives. Hear their cry…”Don’t be judgemental!” To them there is moral equivalency between a crack whore and brain surgeon. Libs have taken the universities, media and government institutions. No wonder many people are without a moral compass.
RE: Nobody wants the Palestinians
The Palestinians get little support except as underdogs (everybody likes to cheer for the underdog). Jordan never wanted the Palistinians, neither did Lebanon, Syria or Egypt. After ’56, the Palestinians were not integrated into the surrounding Arab countiries, but instead were herded into the camps around the Israeli border. In ’70, the PLO tried to overthrow Jordan and King Hussein’s forces kicked butt. The Palestinians are ruled by the faction(s) that have the most AK-47s not a Democratic government. No widespread demands have been made for a seperate Palistinian nation as the UN resolution allowed. It’s hard for me to feel sympathy for a people who’s only common cause is to exterminate another people.
RE: Shot in the arm if you needed one pal!
Best wishes in all of your endeavors.
RE: Some home truths!
It’s a sad fact of human nature that many would rather steal from others than work. Work is hard. Why do hard things when the easy path is available. In ‘uncivilized’ cultures it’s called piracy, banditry or graft. In the ‘civilized’ world, its called socialism. The tactics are different, but the results still have the lazy benefiting from the labor of the industrious.
RE: we have enough laws here….
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-04-02 AT 05:45 PM (GMT)]Heston is right about guns not being the problem. It’s the lack of values borne by certain elements in the American populace. Guns don’t unlock their storage cabinets and run down the street shooting people willy-nilly. Nor are they an evil talisman that transforms the law-abiding into criminals.
Do a web search for Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Reports. You’ll find that US gun deaths break down into categories. Accidents (hunting and other) are a tiny percentage. Gun suicides (mostly men – women prefer drug overdoses) are a sizeable percentage, but lower than experienced in gun-free Japan and comparable to suicide rates in Europe. Murders and self-defense from murder consitiute the remainder. The vast majority of murder/self-defense ‘victims’ are minorities above the age of 13 and engaged in the drug trade, gang activities, robberies/violent felonies or all three. For the 70% of the US populace that is not minority, the murder perpetration rate is lower than that of Europe.
Not politically correct, but factual.
