Surely Mr Green it’s the dopey population, of which you are obviously one, that would rather have President Blair and his first lady! Never mind how much it costs the taxpayer, she is worth every penny not to mention the huge revenues from tourism that she generates and the respect of the whole world!

We are envied the world over in having a monarchy with all the traditions and history that goes with it! More importantly, she is in charge of our armed forces which provide checks and balances, which you don’t necessarily get with a President in charge!

This is not just a British thing, its going to happen to almost all western countries as Asia & Latin America become the masters of the world, we could even see a new parallel to the UN.

Masters of the world? They will never be able to sort out their own countries, let alone become masters of the world! What a load of tosh!

I see, once again, the story changes as more information comes to light!

Nothing had been mentioned up to now that each charity is allowed one day free. On the basis that there are over 4,000 charities, isn’t that fair enough?

I’d give my left foot to see that almost £2m itemised, with receipts!

If it is correct, then what hypocritical *******s! So if it’s not a charity they support, they rob from you!

As said by others, completely disgusting, considering their profits.

Here we go again, another one jumping on the band-wagon without knowing the facts! As usual, any excuse to have a go regardless of the truth!

It is strange that many people find that it is wrong to be sucessful and make huge profits! The fact that quite a large chunk of the profits comes from investing in 13 countries abroad doesn’t even occur to them! Tesco are the second largest retailer in the world after Walmart – having recently overtaken Carrefour of France. Perhaps they support would rather support a French company more than the British one!

It they would only put their brain in gear for one second, they would realise that those huge overseas profits are finishing up in the UK, in terms of dividends and, more importantly, pension funds!

Let’s get thew facts right before we start throwing stones at Tesco.

It started off by Tesco keeping 50% of the takings themselves! Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know this not to be true!

Now it appears that they are emptying each tin and passing 50% to their chosen charity! This is also absolute nonesense as if, as a large business, they they don’t have bigger, more important things to worry about!

I am surprised by the number of people who wanted to believe the contents of the initial posting!

I totally agree with everything that has been said.

What also really annoys me is the ritual slaughter of animals. It is the British way to stun them first in order that they feel no pain.

However the Muslim way is to hang them upside down and slit their throats without any stunning whatsover, so that the animals die in agony!

I find it very strange that they can get away with it in this country. Nobody seems to complain and not a word about it from the RSPCA, Animal Defenders or any other animal welfare organisations! I believe it is all down to trying avoid upsetting the Muslim minority!
