yup, next job.
Anyone got one spare?
The B A eagle mentioned by Ozplane can be seen taking off on utube if you search “B A Eagle wisemans ferry” This may also bring up the first flight of Comper Swift VH-ACG at Camden to the right of the image.
These aeroplanes plus several others and projects are based at a small grass airstrip north of Sydney on the Hawkesbury river. There is also a small Bed and Breakfast at the airstrip which will be opening soon. There are 7 or 8 interesting aeroplanes there and we will post contact details later or I can be PMed.

comet with comper swift 2009, oshkosh,
surely the paper mache was not made as we did in primary school. There must be a different process?
excellent, very good Tangmere !
A restored Swift and a replica Comet in formation
Dear Avion ancien,
That is the D H Comet reproduction based in California. A very good reproduction though there is some debate if or not the finish should be as glossy as is now or should be more matt as was initially. A small point I confess given the work to build it.
The swift however is totally origional with the origional engine and minor modifications placed on it throughout its long and varied life.
Most Swift fans know it’s history but if you want any details such as it’s life with an American band leader let me know.
good thinking John, I will have a close look but as yet have not seen anu colour.
an aside
Swift G-acag, constructers number s32/10 was used in France between 20/11/32 and 6/11/33 mostly by Flt Lt Lacombe but also Regineuse, Grandeau and Zulolf. .
It flew mostly at Orly but also to Geneve and other spots.
It was then sold to australia as VH-UVC and this is from the origional log.
I am entrusted with an ex-mission aeroplane which flew out from Madang as the Japanesse were attacking. This Klemm l25 had bullet holes in the tail so would that be classed as a “warbird” compared to other aeroplanes which did not see action?. Is not the term “Warbird” a very artificial term ?
Should it be retained or made redundant?
Thought you might like to see another replica of the DH 88 in the air with another unusual aeroplane. Taken at Oshkosh earlier this year and on the solo photo shoot the Comper got to 11700 feet. Very cold for the pilot.
Some years ago we restored a Klemm l25 which had been a mission aeroplane in New Guinae and this year took it to Oshkosh for their year of “Humanitarian and Mission Aviation” theme.
As well a book was published “The Magnificent Klemm” which outlined this aeroplanes history and an epic flight escaping the Japs from Madang to Australia. It also was involved with the rescue of chinesse children from the approaching regement which had precipitated the rape of Nanching. This is part of the untold history of the war.
This could be made into a similar epic as the old, Robert Mitchem and Deborah Kerr movie where she was a nun and he a coastwatcher. The sexual tension was intense but not consumated in this film.
All the aeroplanes needed for this are available in Australia and could be made on a low funds platform.
