    Amazing! Many thanks to fah619!

    Probably one day all remaining flyable L-188 will find there way to Canada…

    What is Air Spray planning to do with c/n 1028/ Ex-FAH555/ C-GNPB, conversion for firefighting ore using for spares like some others?

    But: flightaware reported Brownsville, not Corpus Christi!

    Thanks for the update! Was this the Electra that was in such poor condition that it wasn’t expected to fly again?

    No. At facebook (search for Ice Pilots NWT) you can see Buffalo’s new Electra with the new canadian registration C-FIJV, short time before it left Coventry, fitted with engines and props.

    The other one what you mean which was in very poor condition is that one, actual pic from June 2011:

    Cannibalized for spares…

    The former Atlantic a/c that had the fuel tank incident has been patched up and has flown out to Conair at Abbotsford, Canada. The other former Reeve Aleutian Electra is also due to go to Buffalo at Yellowknife once it’s patched up and the engines from the first Reeve a/c have been freighted back from Canada to the UK (it’s systems have been powered on fairly recently using a genny and the control surfaces are being worked on).

    Thank you Andy for your interesting infos, but again something was “mixed up”. The fuel tank incident happened on 28 Jan 2010, the a/c was G-LOFB (cn 1131), it was still stored in CVT in Oct 2010, not flown out to Conair! Have a look at the following pic (scroll down) without props, an engine and backdoor.

    The other former Reeve-Electra, stored at CVT, please look here:

    Pics taken in May 2010, very poor condition! This a/c should ever fly again?

    Here the situation in these days, please correct me if I’m wrong:

    Electra movements from Coventry in 2010/2011
    To Conair :
    c/n 1143 (G-LOFD Atlantic AL) exported 16 March 2010, now C-FYYJ;
    c/n 1138 (G-FIJR Atlantic AL) exported 03 Nov 2010, now C-GYCG;
    c/n 2014 (G-FIZU Atlantic AL) exported/left CVT 1 Feb 2011;
    To Buffalo AW:
    c/n 2010 (N2RK Reeve Illusion) exported 05 Aug 2010, now C-FIJX;

    Electra’s stored at Coventry/wrecks
    c/n 1116 Ex-Fred Olsen LN-FOL (DHL colours) wreck (firefighter-trainer);
    c/n 1129 Atlantic G-FIJV parted out/spares;
    c/n 1131 Atlantic G-LOFB parted out;
    c/n 1140 Ex-Reeve N4HG parted out

    Electra’s in service for Atlantic AL

    Correct!
    Two others were written off and scrapped in Kinshasa after hard landings in 1994/1995:
    c/n 1119 9Q-CDG
    c/n 1126 9Q-CCV

    One survived.
    The last remaining of the (Ex-VARIG) congolese Electras is still stored at Kinshasa-Ndjilli Airport, condition unknown:
    c/n 1073 9Q-CTO
